Many Buyers today are in search for the infamous "great deal". Therefore, it is only natural that they direct their home search towards foreclosures. However, in reality are foreclosures really the holy grail of real estate? As a Knoxville REALTOR® I stay on top of the Knoxville TN real estate market and have seen an increasing number of "fantastic deals" in non-bank owned homes. Just because a home is listed as a foreclosure does not mean that it is "a good deal", in fact I have seen many foreclosures that in my opinion and according to the comps are way (6 comments)
How to Purchase Distressed Properties with a FHA Loan - 03/25/11 11:21 AM
In today's market I encounter a lot of Buyers who are enamored by the potential deals surrounding Foreclosures and Short Sales in and around Knoxville TN. During a Buyer's market we have not had the luxury of telling every Seller we meet with that they will be able to make thousands of dollars off of the sale of their home. In several cases we have (0 comments)

Most people by now have heard of short sales and know that they can serve as a favorable alternative to foreclosure. However, despite the increasing popularity of this term, it is still a concept that is very much so misunderstood by the general public. Short sales are something that we may be seeing a lot more of in the next couple of years so is is important that the general public be educated about the ins and outs of short sales. Short Sales Defined In simple, a "short" is when the mortgage amount owed on the property + commissions + closing (0 comments)
