I Want To Sell My Portland Home To A Pilot

Ok..so at first when I received this call I thought she said PIRATE.... "Arrr Matey!..You want to sell your home to a pirate? I asked? Thinking for sure this was one of my parrot head friends playing a joke on me. Ok..so I didn't say Arrr matey..but was tempted. As she clarified that she said PILOT, I listened to her voice to see if it was a familiar one..but no, so intrigued now, I asked her why she thought her home was best suited to sell only to pilots.

She went on to say that she's been online looking for REALTOR's® in the Portland Metro area that is familiar with selling a home that has a hangar and a private air strip right in the center of Oregon's gorgeous wine country..but wasn't too successful. She did however find my name (yes AR and Google juice) and decided to call.

I mentioned to her that this is not a common niche and that she would need an agent that was internet savvy..someone that knew that you needed to use the right key words to sell her Portland home with a private airstrip. This kind of special home is not even a menu choice in our local RMLS...I know this because when I called and asked..the guy actually said this was a new one to him. Her agent would need to market to private aviation sites in the Portland Metro area as well as Newberg and Yamhill County areas.

I was out taking pictures and video for a listing in Durham I have coming up, so I got her information and said I'd do some checking and call her back. I got her machine..so hoping we connect and I get the opportunity to check out the property. I am intriqued for sure.

I know there aren't many agents that are familiar with this...so it would be new territory for all. I for one would love this challenge...hmmm, I have had recent experience in a helicoptor ride over Kauai....and a Cessna ride over St. Thomas.....ya think that counts?
