Is Rudeness Really Necessary?
Call me naive, but I'm always amazed when I see, or hear rudeness and how it affects the person that it's directed at.
 What prompted this post, was the woman working at the Tualatin post office yesterday. I was online and listening to her as each person stepped up as she asked really calm and nice what the contents of the package was to each person before me.

I need to break up with my best friend "Flabby"
So here I am in my 51st year of life, still carrying around the extra pounds that seem to like hanging with me like a best friend. The only thing is, this friend I'll call "Flabby" is the worst kind of friend. Yes..she's always there to comfort me with food, but yet snickers at me while watching me squeeze into my jeans.

Last night I was sitting at my desk working at seeing some of the wood that I know is under the piles when I heard it.
I have the TV on so I can watch or listen while I do my thing and I swear I almost clutched my chest Fred Sanford style and shouted out that "This is the big one" cuz wow.....the news was actually saying something POSITIVE about the real estate market....and West Linn to be specific.

Recently, I've have a couple of agents in my office tell me that they've been talking about me. The word apparently is out that I have a nice blogging thing going. The first wants to meet with me after the holidays to pick my brain.

Last night we had tickets to the Aaron Meyer Holiday Concert at The Old Church in downtown Portland. With several friends going, we decided to make a night of it and enjoy dinner at the Davis Street Tavern before hand. It really does seem like only a couple of years ago when we checked out this place when it first opened.  I can't remember how the idea of buying a floating home came about, but my hubby and I are now the proud crazy owners of one. We started looking in the summer and after the bank (yes..it was bank owned) turned our initial offer down, they had a change of heart after labor day...and with two years of vacancy to accept our second offer (lower this time around..what were they thinking?)

Oh baby it's getting cold outside....but yet taking a stroll around my yard, I was actually amazed at some of the blooms that are still hanging in there in mid December! One of the great things about living in Portland is the fairly mild climate that is great for gardening. I love a really nice mixture of evergreens, perrenials and annuals to have something to look at through the year. Years ago, I learned something about myself when I was doing script practice. We were going around the table, each taking a turn at running some "lines" back and forth. I've never been too comfy doing this to be honest...and have often felt that I fumble verbally a bit when many eyes are on me....but this was something I needed to push through. One of the reasons I took this challenge on was to stay focused even when I really want to just relax and enjoy the holidays. I've done this kind of thing before and did notice that when many agents were moaning about not having business in the beginning of the year, I did..and I can say it was by staying focused, keeping in contact with my sphere, and putting myself out there to make new contacts.

Why is it that in all the slasher movies, you always see that one lone person walking through a dark, empty house..and they always have to go down and check the basement right? All the while you're sitting in your chair saying.."oh..now how dumb is that"!
