I Want To Sell My Portland Home To A Pilot - 05/30/12 06:43 PM
I Want To Sell My Portland Home To A Pilot Ok..so at first when I received this call I thought she said PIRATE.... "Arrr Matey!..You want to sell your home to a pirate? I asked? Thinking for sure this was one of my parrot head friends playing a joke on me. Ok..so I didn't say Arrr matey..but was tempted. As she clarified that she said PILOT, I listened to her voice to see if it was a familiar one..but no, so intrigued now, I asked her why she thought her home was best suited to sell only to pilots. She went (8 comments)
This report will only reflect changes from 5/14 to 5/20 2012, so the changes after this will be reflected in next weeks report. The current inventory/absorption rate in Tualatin according to the RMLS Market Trend Report is still sitting at 4.8 months, a little higher than 4.5 in the last report, so we've held steady staying under 5 months for quite a while now. A 5-6 month inventory would be considered an even market, anything over this is considered a buyer's market and under a seller's market. Below (4 comments)
Sellers, Did You OK Your Agent's Marketing But Are Not Happy With It? - 05/21/12 07:51 PM
Sellers, Did You OK Your Agent's Marketing But Are Not Happy With It? So I get that you hired an agent because of their expertise to list your home and let them run with it..it's what they do. What I don't get is why you wouldn't speak up if you're not happy with the way your home is being marketed. Selling a home is a joint effort between both the seller's and their agent, so I can assure you that your agent would MUCH rather you let them know if there is something you might not like instead of perhaps voicing (14 comments)
Tualatin, Oregon..A Great Place To Call Home! Tualatin, Oregon (pronounced TU-AAH-LA-TIN) is a wonderful suburb city about 11 miles or 20 minutes south of downtown Portland. Many move to Tualatin to take advantage of its desirable location along I-5 and I-205 highways as well as having the WES rail system(Westside Express Service) for ease of commuting to other cities. At its center is Tualatin Commons on the Lake where many events are held throughout the year from The Crawfish Festival, Summer Concert series, Farmer’s Market, Artsplash and the Giant Pumpkin Regatta…to name a few. Once a pet food factory, (6 comments)
Tualatin, Oregon..Home Of The Largest Hanging Basket In The World! - 05/17/12 07:32 PM
Tualatin, Oregon..Home Of The Largest Hanging Basket In The World! One of my favorite pastimes is strolling through the many winding cedar paths at The Garden Corner in Tualatin, Oregon. The sound of the many fountains and the scent of all the plants and flowers in the air makes this thoroughly relaxing for me. Every spring, hubby and I go and get our passion baskets for our home. These are the very baskets that line the streets of Tualatin and Lake Oswego in the summer. So here I am meandering through the many annuals, passing by the Espresso Stand (complimentary) (4 comments)

Dear Diary..Some Random Thoughts Of A Portland Real Estate Agent Dear Diary.. Last week was a pretty eventful one for me with changing companies, Mother’s Day, My 29th wedding anniversary, one son telling me he is officially moving out…and the other telling me he’s officially moving back…lol. So here are some of my random thoughts for you: *I’m happy for my sons as they at least made and are making the attempt to live on their own. It takes courage to leave the safety net and good life they have at home. I think it’s much harder for them today (14 comments)

Why Is Staying In Touch So Hard When It's So Essential To Us? - 05/12/12 08:18 AM
Why Is Staying In Touch So Hard When It's So Essential To Us? I was just checking out Facebook this morning and a good friend from the past posted something and it got me thinking. As life goes, you're with people and are very close at certain parts..phases, and then years can go by before you touch base. It's been almost two years since I went back to Long Island to celebrate my "big birthday" and was blessed to have all my good friends around. Getting together was like time didn't seperate us..we just seemed to pick right up with things (39 comments)

Portland Rose Festival Named In The Top 10 U.S. & Canada Festivals With The Portland Rose Festival scheduled to open with the celebration events starting May 20th and running until June 17th, 2012, it was of course wonderful to hear that it was named by Travelocity as one of the top 10 spring fairs across the U.S. and Canada! It's no wonder, between races, rides, the Grand Floral Parade, Fleet week, fireworks and much more, all set along the Willamette River at Tom McCall Waterfront park, there really is something for everyone! With the court selections, open house and the history (14 comments)

My Anniversary Story...Funny How Life Goes - 05/08/12 07:11 PM
My Anniversary Story...Funny How Life Goes We were two kids in middle school...well, they called it Jr. High then. There was that one day I can so clearly remember. I was a very shy 7th grader walking into the cafeteria for lunch with my girlfriend Chris. If you can recall that feeling of nervousness..looking around the room with so many new faces, cliques, like the scene from Mean Girls where the only table available was with a bunch of 8th grade guys. With heart pounding and sweaty palms, I placed my tray down and ate silently. Oh, I can remember (11 comments)

Lately, it seems that I'm being invited to more and more "Happy Hour" networking events. There's the event every Thursday downtown Portland in the Pearl for REALTOR's®...or just yesterday, I went to a "First Thursday" happy hour at a brokerage that was offering a credit class after. Well...I DO need those credits..so hey, might as well go to a fun event right? I recently read a blog by Rob Shepard titled Business Practices that have changed over the years where he talked about what was norm a while ago..but thought that (13 comments)
It's Canby's 28th Annual Spring Garden Fair Time! May 5th & 6th, 2012 - 05/02/12 08:40 PM
It's Canby's 28th Annual Spring Garden Fair Time! May 5th & 6th, 2012 It's that time again to set aside a few hours this weekend to head down to the Canby 28thAnnual Spring Garden Fair at the Clackamas County Fairgrounds. I can easily spend 3 or more hours here walking up and down perusing all the 200 plus vendors with booths full of every kind of plant imaginable. Not only will you find some great plants, you can get many of them straight from the grower. I've found varieties of flowers and plants that you can't find in the (4 comments)
