C'mon..admit it, you like perusing those "Star" magazines at the checkout counter right? I know I secretly (ok..maybe not so secretly now) like to see those "real" pictures that show a cellulite pocked thigh on a movie star.
I also like to shop in Walmart when I'm around one..which I have a feeling that many also love to do..but won't admit to it. I guess wearing a blouse with a Kathy Lee tag is just..well..just so Walmarty.

I was excited when I saw that huge for rent banner removed that once covered the front of the old Willamette General Store..and in it's place was a newly fixed up and remodeled interior that has now revitalized this once run down space.
New owner Ryan Dato and family took this place and transformed it into a space that just calls you to come inside. In a time where those big stores are prevelant, it's so nice to see a store like this open up. The outside was spiffed up but still … (13 comments)

Today was a gorgeous day in West Linn Oregon, with the sun shining and the weather in the mid 60's. A perfect kind of day to get out and about enjoying the fall festivities around town or for fall gardening. Both of which I was really itching to do...but with a torn calf muscle, I'm supposed to stay off of my leg for a bit. I've known that West Linn is a great place to live, because I've been living and enjoying it for two years now. According to Money Magazines 2011 list of best small towns to live, West Linn came in at # 69 .
Now..I will however admit that when living in and loving Tualatin for many years, I initially didn't have West Linn on my radar as a place I would eventually live.

I don't seem to recall this wisteria blooming this much last year, so hoping it's due to the new irrigation system we installed, so it received lots of good water during our usually drought summer months. 
I've always loved looking at wisterias in the gardening books and magazines, so when we were buying this house, I was excited to see it had a nice strong vine.

Pretty in Pink..Cherry blossoms in West Linn Oregon
My Cherry trees have finally blossomed that line the one side of my yard. When we bought our home in the summer of 2009, the yard was very overgrown and had not been taken care of for quite some time. The Cherry trees had the "wilt" so were not looking too good. We had an arborist come in and trim them back and they put something in the soil at the base of each one to help the wilt..so fingers crossed. Right now they look beautiful!

So last time they city of West Linn did this, I missed out. I went outside and was wondering why there were sofas, lawn furniture,appliances and such out with the regular garbage. I had soooo much stuff that I could have put out to take advantage of this, but the day my garbage was collected I was off an running so it was too late.

Ever since the ActiveRain video challenge, I've been working on making some local videos, as well as taking some for my blog while traveling. I just recently googled my cwestfall60 Youtube channel and there were a few things that caught my eye that I never noticed before.

Today was the Ugly Holiday Sweater Dash and Parade in West Linn, Oregon. I woke to the sound of downpouring rain and thought maybe this would be cancelled...yeah right..this is Portland! NOTHING gets cancelled in the rain. They did say we were in for 1-3" today.
