Having a basement with walls bowing walls is something that makes any homeowner uneasy. There is, of course, the concern about the house's structural integrity, there is the risk of collapsed walls and mud filled basements, and the imminent loss of the property's market value, if you happen to be selling such a home. You simply can't sell a home with a bowing foundation wall, and you can't hide it either.

Great post from Rain Maker Robyn Heathcock, pointing to the severe home foundation issues being caused by drought in Texas and urging area homeowners to watch out for signs of foundation failure.

Besides the signs she mentions in this post, I'd recommend you look at this guest post I published in this blog a while ago, listing other signs of foundation failure, you should look for. 

Foundation problems tend to get worse overtime, so the sooner you detect and solve them, the less expensive the fix.
