OAKS/BLENHEIM RIDING PARK

A new agreement was announced by Rancho Mission Viejo that will keep the riding park and soccer venue at the east end of town of San Juan Capistrano for at least another three years. There was concern the park would close but instead, landowner Rancho Mission Viejo announced a new three-year deal with Brandes to continue the riding park and soccer field. Much to the delight of the equestrian community and I am sure the city of San Juan Capistrano for this Riding Park has been host to Equestrian Olympic trials, Rodeos and other yearly horse shows.  The riding park will be renamed to Rancho Mission Viejo Riding Park. For more information:

For those of you who missed the exciting $50,000 Orange County Register CSI-W Grand Prix last night March 29, 2008 at the Oaks Blenheim Equisport, the purse was won by Kerri Potter on Rockford 1.

There were 12 rides and four qualified for the jump off - Richard Spooner on his horses Cristallo & Ace, Kerri Potter on her horse Rockford 1 and Guy Thomas on his horse Carino.  Kerri Potter of Del Mar won and Guy Thomas of Palo Alto won second.

At last year's show, I really enjoyed the level of competition - it was fierce! and fun! -;) What more can you ask for - beautiful horses, gorgeous blue skies and the smell of manure-;) (the cold beer helps too!) If you haven't been to any of the shows, you must come. This is one of the premium equestrian events in Southern California.
