262 with donna: 26.2 with Donna, 2/12/12, Beaches, Jacksonville, FL - 02/11/12 09:52 PM
Tomorrow is the big race day here in Jacksonville & the beaches - it's the annual 26.2 with Donna End Breast Cancer half and full marathons! There will be road closures, and detours, and everyone is prepared; watching the preparations is interesting: there are cars from the auto sponser dotting one main course, J. Turner Butler (which us locals call JTB), and portable faciliites set up. The race starts at 6:30am and everyone should be in from the course by 2pm. Here's the link to the race route, so you can plan appropriately. Congrats to all the runners, and dress warm;

I don't know if you were able to watch part or all of the race today, or if you were one of the many who raced - if so, I applaud all of you! I watched near the half-way point, up Seminole Road, and was amazed at how many people I saw not just running or walking but supporting this fabulous cause and event. Many of us have a family member, or dear friend who has been diagnosed with breast cancer, and raced in their honor. The weather today was about near-perfect for the race, and we saw many smiles and
