jacksonville jaguars: Jacksonville Jaguars & Everbank Field Upgrades, Jacksonville, FL
- 07/11/14 07:38 AM
You may have heard a few little comments here and there about the upcoming improvements to Everbank Field, home to the Jacksonville Jaguars. I managed a sneak peek the other night, while at an event to kickoff the Everbank promotion offering a lucky homebuyer the chance to fly to London, England to watch an NFL game. Of course, there were "no cameras, please" signs, but the event itself was quite nice. The event was a nice size: not too large to be a massive thing, but not so small that people were uncomfortable. The menu included: mini cottage pies,

jacksonville jaguars: Jacksonville Jaguars Field Improvements
- 10/02/13 09:22 PM
Before I'm labeled "not a football fan", please be aware I grew up in Northern NJ, and cut my teeth on the Giants in the early 70's. We tailgated in freezing temps, with snow on the ground, to a team that would lose on a regular basis. I have had Jaguars season tickets in the past, and enjoyed the team, and I enjoy the game. I don't particularly care for spending 8 hours on a weekend to watch a team lose poorly ( and, yes, it is possible to lose well). The field improvements outlined in this article include some pretty hefty

jacksonville jaguars: Friendly For Fulham at EverBank Field To Showcase Jacksonville
- 07/19/13 11:56 PM
I had blogged recently that Shad Khan, the Jacksonville Jaguars owner, was bidding to purchase the English Premiere League team, and he has completed the purchase. Now, how could this have a positive impact on Jacksonville, FL? Consider a "friendly" soccer match at EverBank Field, featuring Fulham - it's an awesome opportunity to showcase Jacksonville, as well as the $63 million in improvements to EverBank Field. This could be an incredible opportunity for all parties involved: Fulham, Jacksonville, Shad Khan, the list is endless! jacksonville jaguars: Jacksonville Jaguars & City Unveil $63M Improvement Plan
- 06/19/13 08:36 PM
Apparently, under owner Shahid Khan, we have some major stadium improvements coming our way. A few of the improvements include: New platform area in the north end-zone with pools, food & beverage service. Video scoreboards in each end zone, 55 x 301 feet , the largest of their kind. New LED board displays on the sidelines, as well as the Bud Light Party Deck and above the Terrace Suites in the south end zone. Displays over the tunnels Shahid Khan is quoted as saying "It will be impossible to stay home and watch the Jaguars" Now, I LOVE NFL Football, but

jacksonville jaguars: NFl Tightens Security Again
- 06/13/13 08:59 PM
Those of us who have attended at least one NFL game in our lifetimes can recall how stadium security used to be, and how it is now. Growing up in New Jersey, I went to many Giants games. At that time, you could even bring in coolers, which was (to me and others) awesome. These days, you definitely cannot bring a cooler, and now the types of bags you can bring are being addressed. Keep in mind, just like TPC in our area, these restrictions will be enforced so prior planning is the best option. With the exception

jacksonville jaguars: Jacksonville Jaguars Reveal New Logo
- 02/05/13 05:34 AM
The Jacksonville Jaguars are not wasting any time with making changes. From a new General Manager to a new head coach, and now a new logo, the team is ready to greet the new season with a new energy, and optimism, that many of us had hoped for when Shad Khan purchased the team. I believe new ticket prices, and new uniforms are on the way as well - but for now, here is the new logo:

jacksonville jaguars: Jaguars Hire Dave Caldwell - Happy New Year!
- 01/11/13 03:32 AM
It's certainly a new year in Jacksonville, with the major decision made by the new GM, Dave Caldwell, who fired Mike Mularkey after our worst season in history. Shad Khan purchased the Jaguars last year, and made some big changes, and I know I was very optimistic about this past season, at least when it started, and then dejected when it ended - and I don't think I was the only one. Caldwell is the second youngest GM in the NFL, and in the first two days alone, has made major changes. Aside from the coaching change, he has swiftly

jacksonville jaguars: Jacksonville Jaguars & 2013
- 12/31/12 11:03 PM
After an incredibly disappointing season, the worst in franchise history, our new owner, Shad Kahn, made a long overdue decision yesterday when he fired the General Manager, Gene Smith. Having been a Jaguars & NFL fan for years, I have been amazed by poor NFL draft choices, and their lack of performance, as well as our players lack of efficiency ont the field (seems as though our game tape has been widely distributed for others to watch with popcorn), so this *seems* like a step in the right direction. Here's hoping the Jacksonville Jaguars & their fans get everything they

jacksonville jaguars: Jacksonville Jaguars Mularkey's Future....
- 12/26/12 10:29 PM
I have been an NFL fan for years. Decades, actually. I grew up in New Jersey, and was fortunate to attend NY Giants games as a kid.....and, even if they lost, I always felt as though they had given their all. When I moved out, I felt as though I had to have my own team, not the same team as my dad, and chose the Chicago Bears. The 1984-1985 Bears, with Ditka as coach, The SuperBowl Shuffle Bears. Nice timing on my part, eh? And, so in Jacksonville, I have been a Jaguars fan. It's been the toughest sporting relationship

jacksonville jaguars: Tim Tebow In Your NFL Stocking?
- 12/23/12 02:14 AM
While the news continues that Tim Tebow is not being properly utilized, in fact, at ALL utilized by the NY Jets, we here in Jacksonville, FL have a happy thought that Tim could be coming here to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Whether you are a football fan, pro or collegiate, or a Tebow fan, I can say it would be very welcome boost to our team, and NFL pride. From the Florida Times Union: ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported late Saturday that NFL sources have said New York Jets backup quarterback Tim Tebow is a ‘virtual certainty” to be on the Jacksonville Jaguars’

jacksonville jaguars: Jacksonville Jaguars Help Kids At Christmas Time!
- 12/18/12 12:17 PM
As many of you know, the Jacksonville Jaguars are well-known for their charitable giving, which may well be similar to every other NFL team. However, since I'm here in Jacksonville Beach, I know & read about the Jaguars more than the other NFL teams. Many of the team members took homeless children from the Sulzbacher Center shopping for Christmas toys recently, which I think is wonderful. The Sulzbacher Center is a starting over point for many of our area's homeless, and what cooler thing to do than shop with a pro football player! jacksonville jaguars: Jacksonville Jaguars Owner Dedicated to Jacksonville, FL
- 02/25/12 09:57 PM
There has been a lot of press, both negative, and more recently positive, about the Jacksonville Jaguars, and their future. I have been excited about the new direction, ownership and coach of the team; I believe several of these have been changes have been necessary for a while (most notably, the coach). I love seeing headlines like this regarding the Jaguars, and look forward to sharing more positive news as things progress - I'm sure we'll have a more involved fan base starting in 2012 and moving forward.

jacksonville jaguars: DBC Days 6 & 7 - Take a Stand & Networking
- 12/07/11 01:26 PM
Many times, we tend to be somewhat reticent on hot topics for various reasons. I, for example, do not get drawn into political conversations with buyers in my car (not that this comes up often, but used as a good example). Day 6: There are times it's ok to take a stand and be passionate about how you feel about a topic- mine most recently was the Jacksonville Jaguars Monday Night Football game. Here is my post on Facebook: Good morning! My two cents on the MNF game: I think it's ridiculous for anyone to expect Jack's departure, an interim coach,

jacksonville jaguars: Are You Ready For Some Football??? Jags vs Chargers on MNF, 12/5/11
- 12/05/11 08:21 AM
For those of you who follow football, the Jaguars have really had nothing to purr about (sorry!) in quite some time. Losing seasons, losing games, even if we were ahead. Heck, even Barbara Todaro's Rocky hardly ever goes with them - but he did again this week! Why? For the first time in a LONG time, we here in NE FL have a bit more to talk about. Jack Del Rio was fired. And quite a few fans (and others) think this was long overdue (I would tend to agree). We have an enigmatic new owner, Shahid Khan, and the energy
