minimum wage: Florida's Minimum Wage To Increase in 2012 - 10/18/11 12:39 AM
I remember when I was paid minimum wage, and that was longer ago than I care to detail here :-)
Suffice to say, it is tough for people working minimum wage positions to get ahead financially; there are more people working minimum wage positions, and they typically work more than one job.
Florida's minimum wage for non-tipped employees will increase 1/1/2012 to $7.67 per hour, a 4.9% increase from the $7.31 minimum wage rate of 2011.
Wages for tipped employees will increase to $4.65 from $4.29; this is based on the CPI (Consumer Price Index) for our Southeastern area.
