technology: Day 1 With Android! - 08/01/11 11:28 AM
So, finally, yesterday, I lept into the Droid universe.
My trusty Palm Pro had been getting glitchier and glitchier, sometimes not wanting to let the Supra Ekey function actually function, amongst a myriad of other issues, and I had researched my options which were essentially either IPhone, or Android.
Now, I have nothing against the Iphone, but I'm an avid (maybe rabid?) TMobile patron and have been for 15 or so years. Wi th the impending merger/acquisition/domination of AT&T & TMobile, I decided I would rather purchase and go under contract for less per month, than to move service providers AND … (5 comments)

technology: Technology Is Great, But.... - 12/29/10 09:25 AM
It does not REPLACE the need for proper documentation during a transaction!
I'm working with a couple of buyer's agents on deals right now, and one of them continues to email me emails from her buyers requesting an extension for inspection timeframes, but will not use the proper form for everyone to sign, and have the form included in the file for proper documentation.
The other agent texts incessantly; I like texting, but at times, it just makes more sense to pick up the phone and CALL me so we can get the matter/issue/question resolved more efficiently.

technology: Top 10 Must-Have iPhone Applications - 12/13/10 08:01 AM
I have not yet succumbed to the iPhone swarm, for a variety of reasons:
I still like my Palm Pro, and the OS. It works with our local boards E-key data, meaning I can open lockboxes with my Pro. Yes, I can now open lockboxes with the iPhone, but it does require an additional gizmo and fee for said gizmo.  My phone is only about 2 years old, and while I've noticed the battery life is waning, I tend to make business technology decisions more on the patient side; if the technological advance does not work well, or harms my business, … (7 comments)

technology: Texting Your Buyers? - 09/05/10 08:14 AM
I have a prior buyer back in the picture; he had some credit issues to take care of, and he and his dad were all excited about an REO property.  They had previously had an offer in on this house, when it was a short sale, and we just could not get to closing.
His credit fresh and squeaky clean (yay!), they wanted to go back to this house which was now an REO. It would have to be a rehab 203K loan, but was well priced. So, they were disappointed when I told them it was under contract.
I emailed them … (3 comments)

technology: Tablet or Notebook? - 07/12/08 10:35 AM
I'm upgrading my laptop to either a notebook or a tablet pc and am looking for input from the pros in the field.
I'd love to know what helped sway your purchase decision, and what specific factors you were focusing on.
In my mind, I'd love to have the ability to complete offers on the road, to save my buyers and sellers time.  The tablet pc's can do this. A wireless printer would make me a true road warrior, and that would be a next purchase.
If you have have a tablet or notebook, do you just use it for the road? … (13 comments)
