The buyers daughter called me from an internet website. She was looking for a home for her parents to buy as an investment/home for her during college. It was very important to them that it in walking distance to the college. She had 3 friends she wanted to live with. Later I spoke to the mother. We looked at other homes but this was the one the daughter wanted. It had been on the market for 11 months. I suggested they get (0 comments)
clients: Just finished another inspection - 04/13/12 05:17 PM
Well despite my silence I have been reasonably busy. I finally closed 105 Bridgewater and I have 2 pendings. I don't know why I have slowed my writing down. I continue to work the market. One interesting item is I am mentoring a new agent. The first thing I am having her do is take the Paragon training so that we can really start working. She is a hair stylist and gets leads from her clients... I am hoping perhaps to work with my friend. I do not know how this will go. Another fun thing is that my husband and (2 comments)
Yesterday I found a political ally has changed his views and is now working on legislation I strongly oppose. As Democrats in Idaho we have very little influence in how our state is run. When the Idaho’s education secretary proposed then succeeded in passing three laws that hurt Idaho’s children and teachers there was a bi-partisan outcry among the populace. The outcry was so great that the laws are up for a vote in December. Most of my ally’s and some of my usual political adversaries were working to change the laws. Yesterday I found that my friend (8 comments)
clients: Trust....What I don't like about being a landlord.... - 01/14/12 10:27 AM
Most of my life I could always give someone the benefit of the doubt. If they told me something I could believe it and if I was wrong no real harm came to me. I am a trusting soul. If I say I am going to do something or be there I will. If you tell me that you will do something I will usually believe you. If you say you are my friend, I believe you. The very worst that might happen is you could prove me wrong. I trust the people I surround myself with to be there. So (8 comments)
clients: Today I am exhausted...... - 01/03/12 11:35 PM
Maybe it is the new diet with the new year.... Maybe it is because I ran around all day.... Maybe it is because I dealt with lots of paperwork and had great news....But I am beat....I am blogging because I realized I haven't for 2 days.... So the good things that happened. 1) A house with title problems now has insurable title and the inspection is scheduled for Friday..... See Tax Sale Horror. 2) My Wells Fargo deall closed late but it closed.... See I hate dealing with big banks. 3) Dad signed the papers on the refinance. 4) I might (6 comments)
clients: My last open house of 2011! 105 Bridgewater Ct, Boise, ID 83706 - 12/11/11 10:23 AM
This should be my last open house of 2011! As Christmas approaches people get busy and the open houses are less effective. Of course maybe if I am bored I will do it again next week... They say doing an open house every week shows desperation...Well I am getting desperate to sell this beautiful Boise home in a beautiful subdivision before Christmas. What a wonderful present to give oneself....A place for the tree and a place to hold the holiday....Of course I am Jewish so I celebrate a different holiday...So a place to light the menorah in the beautiful bay window (2 comments)
This beautiful home in Caldwell's Stuendburg historical district is up for rent again. It is an absoultely cool old Victorian circa 1900....My favorite is the wrap around porch.... The problem is that my last tenant trashed it and didn't pay Octobers rent. They gave proper notice if they were moving in November but they kept lying about the check in the mail..... They also left it damaged and very dirty.....I and my work crew are making it shine again but it is expensive and tiring..... They said they didn't like pets but their pets peed all over it..... They didn't (5 comments)
Tonight start the Jewish New Year!!!! Our holidays go from sundown to sundown. As usual, it doesn't matter how late in the secular year the holiday falls, I am scrambling..... This is a time that I usually take to reflect on the year that was and look towards the year that will be...... It is a nice time but not like the secular New Year filled with parties and fun...... We reflect.....We Pray....We eat..... Even on holidays that we fast we eat before and after..... As a Jewish Real Estate agent in Boise I sometimes have to explain why I (1 comments)
clients: Today I went to a seminar...... I made a couple of appointments for tomarrrow - 03/05/08 10:01 PM
Well I went to a seminar which helped me some. The guy was very pushy about his paid seminar on March 20. He was actually insulting to us if we didn't sign up. I didn't because I am on a plane during the seminar. After reminding us how important it is to remember the balance of family and real estate he told me to cancel my trip. that really annoyed me. He also wouldn't stop asking the same question if we didn't say yes (to whatever the question was). I noticed 1/2 the people left at the break. He did (1 comments)
clients: Happy Presidents Day Everyone - 02/18/08 08:52 AM
Before I was a real estate agent this used to be a day off. We as Americans are supposed to celebrate our presidents. Today I will be calling clients and loan officers trying to take advantage that many of my clients have the day off. I also might help my youngest son get ready for National History Day. Things are looking up in the Boise real estate market.
Here is a brief History of the Holiday: This was taken from http://www.patriotism.org/presidents_day/ (4 comments)
This is a blog about all things real estate (and a few extras). I blog about my buyers, sellers, listings, short sales, the real estate market. I am internet savvy and am trying to learn more skills. I like blogging because I get to share information with other real estate professionals. I can find you a great home in the Treasure Valley. I was the Democratic Nominee for CD2, Idaho for the US Congress. I have two website: http://www.debbieholmes.net and http://www.greatboisehomes.
