COME HEAR THE SOUNDS OF ITALY

After seven years, the Feast of Little Italy presented by Ed Morse Honda continues to explore new musical avenues to keep their audiences coming back. With a record 70,000 last year, this entertainment line-up is sure to be a knock out!

Larry Chance & The Earls will take the stage Friday, November 6th at 8pm following opening ceremonies.
As the era of Doo Wop exploded so did Larry with his group the High-Hatters now known as The Earls. With their street corner harmonies, chart-topping hits, this is going to make you "Remember Then". Performing their hits "Life Is But a Dream", "Never", "I Believe" and their classic "Remember Then".

Saturday, November 7th will be a day to remember beginning with a host of local talent featuring the Doo Wop sensations Sha Boom at noon. Then, the man who became the first person to sell a million records through a television campaign, Peter Lemongello will perform at 6:15pm. Peter Lemongello has performed at Carnegie Hall, Madison Square Garden and has guest appeared on many evening talk shows throughout the years. Known as the "Italian Crooner" Peter will perform the "Great American Songbook".

Grammy and Golden Globe nominee, Frank Stallone a song-writer, actor and musician will headline the Feast of Little Italy, Saturday at 8pm. Frank has most recently appeared on NBC's "The Contender", and his hit "Far from Over", from the Staying Alive album became a #10 Billboard hit. Frank has written for countless movies such as Rocky I, II, III, Rambo and Over The Top all of which featured his brother Sylvester Stallone.

The Feast of Little Italy concludes with the Legends of Doo Wop performing Sunday, November 8th at 6pm featuring the best in Doo Wop with a combined total of more than 160 years of harmony experience, this super group is comprised of Doo Wop legends Tony Passalaqua of the Archies; Tommy Mara of the Crests "Sixteen Candles"; Steve Horn of The 5 Sharks; and Frank Mancuso.

Publix to begin construction of new center at Evergrene in Palm Beach Gardens

All of the trailers in the former RV Park have been removed and the bulldozers will be starting to arrive at the new Frenchman's Crossing shopping center site. We are very excited to be moving into the neighborhood and think that everyone will find the new services being offered as an asset to the community. You all will notice the ground starting to turn soon, with construction set to begin in October 2009. It is our hope to open Publix in November 2010, just in time for the busy holiday season. In addition to Publix Supermarket, there will also be an additional 16,000 square feet of space in the front of the development. If anybody is interested in leasing space, please give me a call. Florida Governor signs $8K homebuyer credit into law

Gov. Charlie Crist signed the budget bill (SB 2600) on May 27, 2009 that lays out how the state will spend its $65.6 billion in the fiscal year that starts July 1. Included is $30.1 million for the Florida Homebuyer Opportunity Program, which will help with downpayment assistance.

Beginning July 1, those who quality for the federal $8,000 first-time homebuyers tax credit will be able to apply for downpayment assistance before they close on the purchase of their home, and then repay the amount borrowed when they get their tax refund. The program will operate through local county housing administrators, though details are still being worked out.

The Florida Department of Health has a Web site section devoted to the problem, however, and it updates information as it comes in. Since it helps to understand what kind of damage tainted Chinese drywall can cause, one section, "Case Definition with Pictures," includes photos of mirrors, pictures, pipes and other household items impacted by the drywall. The Web site also explains how the state plans to deal with the problem and includes details on how to file a complaint. The Jupiter-Tequesta-Hobe Sound Association of Realtors® announces their 18^th Annual Family Fishing Tournament June 6th and June 7th, 2009. This is a family fun event limited to 60 vessels. (Sorry, no commercial or charter vessels apply). This year's event will benefit The Children's Outreach Fishing Program. Donations from local businesses, volunteers and local government agencies will combine to reach out to children and parents or guardians in Jupiter, Tequesta and Hobe Sound area to create a positive fishing experience that can last a lifetime. Children that would not have the financial resources are provided a free two day educational and fishing experience to learn ethical angling and conservation.

Registration for the Children's Outreach Program is available at the Parks and Recreation Department in Tequesta or the JTHS Association offices at 901West Indiantown Road in Jupiter. Participation in the Outreach Program is limited to the first 60 children who sign up. The children along with 1 parent or guardian will attend a free fishing clinic presented by Mr. Dan Miller on June 1^st at Tequesta Park on County Line Road at 6 pm, an invitation to attend the picnic at the Gumbo Limbo Pavilion in Carlin Park from 4p.m. on June 7^th, free tackle box, and a drift fishing trip on June 8^th aboard the Blue Heron Fleet.

This years schedule of events for the 18^th Annual Family Fishing Tournament include the Mandatory Captain's Meeting at Jupiter-Tequesta-Hobe Sound at 901 Indiantown Road Jupiter from 6PM to 7PM, 2 days of fishing, June 6th and June 7th, and the Awards Picnic at the Gumbo Limbo Pavilion in Carlin Park beginning at 4:00PM and Awards Presentation at 6:00PM. Friends and family members of all the anglers are welcome to purchase tickets to attend and enjoy fun and games for the children and an old fashioned picnic. Data released last week by the Florida Association of Realtors shows home sales up for the fourth straight month in December, but still down four percent overall in 2008. Records show a total of 124, 215 homes sold in 2008, compared to 129, 855 that were sold in 2007. The most notable portion of the tracking data shows home sales up 27 percent in December, increasing nearly 30 percent between November and December. Condo sales also increased 12 percent in December, though decreased 10 percent overall in 2008. The data also shows a decrease in home value with the average home sale in December 2008 coming in at $130,000, down from $192,600 just one year ago. Looking at sales across all of 2008, the median price fell from $234,300 in 2007 to $187,800 last year. The good news for Floridians is that homes are selling. The bad news is that homes are selling for less.

The chart below gives you sales in each consecutive quarter for 2008. The "bottom" is in site and if you are considering buying a home now is the time to buy.
