Purchasing a home is a stressful experience, both because it's a huge monetary investment and because the buying process can be complicated and confusing. Buyers must be well-informed and have a good understanding of a property's underlying value before making a decision to purchase. Once buyers select a residence that meets their personal and financial criteria, it is important to remain diligent until the property closes. Buyers should not let the home of their dreams escape over minor differences during the buying and negotiating processes. The owners of the Iowa site where the "Field of Dreams" movie was filmed have put the place up for sale. Don and Becky Lansing say they love the land, which has been in Don Lansing's family for more than a century, but they think its time to give it up. The movie, released in 1989 with Kevin Costner as its star, was based on the book "Shoeless Joe" by W.P. Kinsella. USDA rural housing is on hold - 05/21/10 09:42 AM
On May 12, 2010 USDA Rural Development issued an announcement with the purpose of recalling and voiding this earlier guidance that was released on May 11, 2010. This second announcement dated May 12th also stated that additional guidance would be released
by USDA Rural Development within the next 24 to 48 hours. As of today, no such guidance or revision has been issued by USDA Rural Development. At this time, we are only able to confirm that all general funds have been exhausted in the USDA Section 502 Guaranteed Rural Housing Program. Rural Housing is Back!!! - 05/11/10 06:17 PM
As announced previously, H.R.5017, the Rural Housing Preservation and Stabilization Act of 2010, passed the House on April 27th (352-62). Similar legislation, S.3266 was introduced in the Senate on April 28th, and is pending further action. Until this legislative action is complete, USDA Rural Development will not be able to issue Loan Note Guarantees for Conditional Commitments that are issued with this "subject to" language. In the announcement dated May 11, 2010, USDA Rural Development also stated: · Rural Development will not reserve loan funds for applications in process during this timeframe. · Rural Development will continue to accept complete Section (1 comments)
