Dancing with the Stars week 2 Recap - 09/28/10 12:03 AM
~ Dancing with the Stars week 2 Recap ~
My thoughts were correct last week.  David Hasselhoff is booted from the show.  It's a shame but it looked like he's drinking quite a bit again on the results show.  Hopefully he will get some help.
Tonight the two dances were the (deadly) Quick Step and the Jive.  My favorites were Jennifer Grey who did a super fast jive from start to finish.  Again she finished the night as the leader.  My second pick was Audriana from The Hills dancing the Quick Step.  Her partner, Tony stated in rehearsal, if they didn't … (17 comments)

Forbes did a recent study to find the best cities for young professionals to find employment in America.  The survey was based on several criteria; including a population of over 1,000,000, showing a positive potential future economic growth, affordability, good job prospects, larger than average incomes, home to the country's bigger companies and where recent graduates of large universities were living.
This is the 4th annual list for the top cities for America's young professionals.  This is a tough economy for anyone to find a job no matter what age.  With the average … (11 comments)

A Happy Ending - 09/26/10 05:09 PM
~ A Happy Ending ~
I just closed on a cute little condo for an adorable young couple.  When we were out looking, they wanted to open up their options and look at some one bedroom units, as well as the 2 bedroom units we had been viewing.  Since their budget was limited, it would certainly give them a few more options, but could potentially limit their growth as a family in the future.
The unit they ultimately fell in love with was really only a one bedroom until, but had a large loft that could be a multi-purpose room, man-cave, … (12 comments)

Congratulations goes out to Ft. Looking For Something Free To Do? - 09/21/10 05:58 PM
Looking for something free to do?
This is the time of year when Mother Nature pulls out her paint brush and shows us the glorious colors of autumn.  Everywhere we look, we see the bright golds, oranges and reds.  But if we blink, we may just miss them.  The color change doesn't last long and before we know it, the leaves are no longer on the trees, instead they are on the ground.  And what we have next to look forward to is the snow.  And for many of us, the ski season season can't come soon enough.

Dancing with the Stars recap - 09/21/10 12:06 AM
~ Dancing with the Stars recap ~
The season has a mix of celebrities.  When I heard who was going to be on the show, I was a little disappointed.  But I was actually surprised.  Most of the celebs were actually quite good.

The low scores went to The Situation (Jersey Shore reality), David Hasselhoff, The Situation and Margaret Cho (comedian).  My personal opinion, David Hasselhoff deserved to be there.  The Situation only had 5 days to learn, whereas every other celebs had 3 weeks to practice.  Margaret was graceful dancing but decided to add some humor into the dance which … (24 comments)

Just Another Challenge - 09/19/10 01:54 PM
~ Just another challenge ~
It's not a problem, just another challenge....like our real estate market.  I may have a broken foot, but I'm still plugging along.  I went to the orthopedic doctor on Friday for some new x-rays to make sure my foot was healing properly.  It was mostly good news.  My foot is on the mend, however,  I am going to have to continue to wear the aircast for another 2-4 weeks.  I have another appointment in 2 weeks for the same routine...more x-rays and an update.
So until then, I will keep the smile on my face, hobble … (17 comments)

Speechless Sunday - 09/19/10 12:31 AM
~ Speechless Sunday ~
I would have to say, when I came home to my little friend, I was just a little speechless.  I had to run into the house to get my camera to take pictures of my little friend.  But honestly speaking, I don't think he would be considered "little".  He was a good 4-5".  And he posed nicely while I took some photos.

It's That Time of Year Again - 09/18/10 10:56 PM
It's that time of year again.  Are you ready?  I have noticed a change in the weather lately.  Yes, we did hit 90 yesterday, but today was a cool 78.  You know what that means....time to do the fall maintenance check ups.
If you didn't have your furnace cleaned and serviced at the end of the season this past spring, do so before the season starts to get the best from your furnace.
Check the weather stripping around your windows and doors to have a more energy efficient home.
Trim low hanging branches on your trees, especially for areas with a … (8 comments)

The Perfect Office Perk - 09/16/10 12:14 AM
~The perfect office perk~
This morning I was talking to my girlfriend.  She works for a computer company and was telling me that they get a free lunch once a week.  How cool is that?  In our industry, we don't get perks like that.  Yes, we can go to classes where a lunch may be sponsored by a lender, title company, etc., but our company doesn't supply lunch for us on a weekly basis.
That got me thinking, if your company were to offer you a perk, what would it be?  Would you choose free pop, lunch once a week, a pinball machine?  … (33 comments)

Wednesday Wisdom ~ Our Actions - 09/16/10 12:01 AM
~Wednesday Wisdom~ Our Actions
I am sure we all have heard the saying, 'Actions speak louder than words.'  And it is so true.  We see this happen everyday.  It's all around us.  Are you guilty of this?  While we may tell our clients we will do something, it is our follow through that they notice and appreciate.  It is easy to say we will do something for them, but it is a whole other story when we actually do it.  It is our action and follow through that will set us apart and above the rest.  It is better to under … (8 comments)

I Will Remember - 09/11/10 01:48 AM
September 11th, 2001 is a day that will remain in my heart for as long as I live.  I remember I was getting ready for work.  I had the television on.  It was the Today Show.   I remember the breaking news.  I remember seeing the clip of the plane flying through the Twin Towers.  I remember the feeling in my stomach as I watched, in shock and disbelief of the scene on the TV.
I remember the anger I felt.  I remember how helpless I felt, how guilty I felt that I was miles away, able to enjoy my life while others endured … (13 comments)

Wednesday Wisdom ~ Humor - 09/09/10 12:59 AM
Wednesday Wisdom ~ Humor.
Humor is important to me.  It's a way of life.  I try to have a good laugh everyday.  It's important to me.  I always try to look on the bright side and take the good out of every situation.  There are times when that in itself is a difficult thing to do, but I really do try to focus on the positive.   And sometimes life can be very stressful, especially in today's economy.  But a good laugh makes things feel better.  It can lessen the stress, even if only for a little while.
My grandfather always used to … (18 comments)

Can I Start the Weekend Over Again, Please? - 09/05/10 10:22 AM
~Can I start this weekend over again, please?~
I would like for someone to tell me that this could be possible.  But I know it isn't.  But it doesn't hurt to ask, right?  I was so looking forward to this long weekend.  I planned on going to the Taste of Colorado which is an annual event held downtown in Civic Center Park.  It's a fabulous event with lots of different foods, concerts, a karaoke stage, entertainment , activities for kids and shopping!  The type of shopping I like.  There are craft and art booths, hand crafted jewelry, gifts and more.  Since I make jewelry with … (31 comments)

Wednesday Wisdom on Motivation - 09/02/10 12:23 AM
~Wednesday Wisdom ~
We all need motivation, whether it's to study for a test, go to the gym, make those prospecting calls, schedule appointments or as simple as doing housework or finish reading a book.  Motivation comes in all shapes and sizes.  Some of us need little motivation to accomplish things and others need a great deal of motivation just to run their life.   Some of us are self-motivated (they are the lucky ones!) and some of us just have to constantly be pushed and nudged to do things.  Whatever you are, the self-motivated kind or at the other end of … (10 comments)
