This contest is allowing me to express the many things I have to be grateful for.  I believe we should all count our blessings and know what and why we are thankful.  I have decided to give you my ABC's of why I am thankful.

Today I was shopping at my local Aurora WalMart store in the Southlands Shopping Center.  At the front of the store between the two entrances, they have "convenient type shopping stores".  There is a bank, a nail salon, a McDonald's, an eye care location a hair salon and now I have seen it all.
 
Back in January, I  remember reading a post by Clint Miller regarding this same scenario.  I thought, "How absurd!"  And yet it has actually happened here in the Denver area.

A few months ago I was back home where I grew up and decided to drive by my childhood home in Des Plaines, Illinois before I headed back to the Denver area.  The neighborhood hadn't changed too much.  There were a few newer trees where the big old tress no longer grew.  Some of landscaping around the houses had changed.  Many homes had different paint colors than I remembered.  Most of the homeowners that I knew had long since moved or passed away.

2011 has been an extremely difficult year for me.  I feel like this is an ongoing theme for me to write about and, it may sound like fiction to some.  Believe me, it's not.  I have had to unfortunately live through it.  As each event unfolded, I thought there wasn't any way possible that I would have to endure more sorrow, pain or misfortune.  And yet, more came my way.  I am hoping and praying that Saturday was the last of it.

One of today's features written by Doug Rogers "No Dear Buyer, You May Not Ride in My Jeep" has inspired me to write this post.  Reading through all the comments and the pro's and con's of having buyers ride in your car vs. follow behind reminded me of something that just happened to me.

Every morning I wake up and go through my morning routine.  I take my little guy, Kobi, for his walk.  I pick up my mail.  I turn on the radio for some music and humor.  The TV gets turned on for a short time for the weather forecast.  I take my shower, fix my hair, put on my make up.  I walk to my kitchen to decide what I will have for breakfast and what I will take for lunch.  I then pack my belongings up and drive to work and usually sing with the songs on the … (13 comments)
