Norwalk CT Market Report October 2011 Sales The real estate market for October in Norwalk CT  has been fairly steady in its sales for the past four years, excepting one spike in sales in 2009.   October 2011 recap: Total home sales for the month: 49 Average Days on the Market: 139 Low value of $100,000 for a Victorian. High value of $940,000 for a farmhouse. Average sold price of $358,846. Median price of $341,000. Average list price was $382,657. Actual purchase price was an average of 6.3% off of the list price.

Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone!
I love this holiday, as it is one with a lot of meaning and love.   It is not commercial, except for the poor turkeys....   Maybe next year we'll make it vegetarian for their sake.

I came across this today, and thought it would be nice to share for those of you who are tired of contracts and leases.    I certainly get a HUGE kick out of watching others work harder than I, and thought it might be as mesmerizing for you as it was for me.    I used to LOVE to take my son to see the firetrucks or trains or bulldozers.  What's up with that?

Are you sad to see the colors change?    Do you still rake your own leaves?   Do you have in your yard a favorite tree or shrub that waits until all others have finished their show before it comes out in full dress?  
I have a favorite Koosa Dogwood tree tha t does just that.  You think it's a dull year, all of the trees are barren, and then - voila!    Gorgeous!!!  We have this color in Wilton CT today!

New MLS System for Fairfield County in CT?

Wow!    We in Fairfield County, CT are about to revolutionize our MLS System!     It has been years and years!   But, didn't they just upgrade the new Paragon?    Why did they do that to then just trash it?  
They are introducing the new Matrix MLS System - anyone out there using it?  
In the summer of 2012, we in Fairfield County (GFC) will catch up and have a fabulous new system to learn and use.   We have to date been using PC Access and Explorer, and more recently, Paragon.

Do you step in, or Build A Wall?

My son's wife's step dad just passed away.   He (let's call him Dan) battled lung cancer (never smoked) and pulmonary fibrosis for about eight years.    It was a valiant battle, with treatments, and doctors and lung transplants.   What a brave man and super supportive absolutely wonderful family.

The Town of Wilton CT 06897 will start cleaning up the town after the incredibly destructive storm last week.   They are asking residents to please pile their debris and branches by the side of the road, not in the road, and the town DPW crews will be by to chip and take away the piles.  They will begin next week, and over the next 4-6 weeks, will make one pass at each street in town.  The Town of Wilton's Department Of Public Works will start this coming Monday and chip as much as possible, and will take away the larger limbs, … (8 comments)

One Finds The Most Amazing Things at Inspections!
During an inspection today of a home we came across a few unusual items that I have not seen in a lot of years!!!   This home was an estate sale, where the owner was the original owner, and built the home himself.   Really quality workmanship!    The home was in need of some updating, but in nice shape.
