Norwalk CT View of the City   - I just had to take this photo the other day while showing homes in Norwalk.
This view was fabulous ...   the view of the harbor, the sound waayy off in the distance, and all of the city landmarks.   You can see the Norwalk Maritime Center, the train station, Sono, the Norwalk Harbor, and across the harbor is East Norwalk's  Cove Street.

The real estate market for 2011 in Westport CT 06880 was  affected by the weather.    We had very bad snow storms in December through March, and the sales reflected this through June.   Then, in the early fall, we had a vicious hurricane with massive power outages and trees down everywhere followed by another equally vicious high wind wet huge snowstorm just before Halloween, which also descimated trees and power.    The sales were amazingly strong compared to the surrounding towns.

Andre just wrote a post about anticipating the arrival of snow, named Waiting For The Snow.  I just looked out, and realized we have snow falling outside right now. 
I thought that after the two feet of snow and all of the problems associated with it in October, that I would hate this.   However, I am feeling kind of giddy about seeing it.  I guess I'm over it!
I now am gazing out the window with all of the putdoor lights on, and loving it!

The real estate market for November in Weston CT 06833 was rocked a little in the $501,000-$1,000,000 range.  Otherwise, December has been fairly steady.  The reason for the change may have been the storms we experienced this fall, with high winds and snow unexpected in October - probably kept the buyers away.  Sales will improve again in the spring.

The real estate market for November in Ridgefield CT 06877 was hurt tremendously by the storms in the end of August  (Hurricane irene) and the end of October (2 feet of heavy wet snow accompanied by high winds).  We had power outages for a week at a time, and trees down everywhere - not the ideal climate for showing homes.  We should see a rise in the closed sales as we come into the spring.

This is downtown Wilton, CT 06897 - taken from in front of the Village Market on the main street, named River Road, as it wanders along the Norwalk River.   Across the way is a building that used to be Center School, just 40 years ago, but now houses many local businesses, and has the Town Green and Town Gazebo in front.
