"Angel in the Clouds" by Robert Swetz (Vegas Bob) 12-31-2009
With the end of 2009 and entering the "New Year" of 2010 I came across this Angel floating in the Clouds at Mount Charleston Nevada. Mount Charleston is only a 45 minute from Las Vegas and it is fun area to ski and play in the snow.
Do I believe in Angels? Well of course I do and I believe this one will be looking over Robert Swetz (Vegas Bob) coming into the "New Year"

See Sean for shell collecting!!!
Via International Financing Solutions :
Beautiful morning on Bonita Beach!! Temperature was a tad cool at 56 degrees but was quickly warming up as the sun rose above the horizon. The warmer it got, the more people that emerged on the beach. The Gulf of Mexico was quite calm with a couple dolphins playing out in the water.
Below are a few pics from this morning's walk on the beach ....FYI .... Shelling has been excellent for the past week to 10 days!!!

New Year's Resolutions... - 12/31/09 02:27 PM
Lisa's 2010 Plate... What's on yours?
Via Lisa VonBargen Estes Park Real Estate Expert (The Yellow Mailbox Real Estate Services):
Greetings from Estes Park!
OK, we've put it off long enough...you know, evaluating 2009, setting goals and making resolutions for 2010. While it is important to set goals that are specific and measurable, the most important thing is to JUST DO IT! That's right...take the first step, make forward progress, do something better today than you did yesterday. (like maybe a healthy breakfast) I'm betting that if we all can be a little better every day, that we can look back on our … (1 comments)

"Today I will Love from the inside out" - 12/29/09 04:39 PM
Robert's wise words...
Via ROBERT A.SWETZ - Commercial Real Estate (Commercial Real Estate - www.VegasBuildingsForSale.com):
"Today I will Love from the inside out"
Being right in the middle of two major Holidays we may become more stressed then usual.
With all the traveling, shopping, eating, cold weather, thinking of past memories, preparing to end the past year and go into a new one we may become short tempered.
If you find yourself snapping at loved ones, friends, clients, agents and more step back take a deep breath and say to yourself ........

Holiday Traditions, Chocolate Éclair Cake - 12/28/09 04:09 PM
Looks good will try this tonight.... Will You?
Via Dan Tabit (Northstone Real Estate Inc.):
Holiday Traditions, Chocolate Éclair Cake
I came across this delicious dessert in the early 90's at a Christmas party when I worked for Washington Natural Gas.  In my 7 plus years there I marketed and sold gas appliances; furnaces, water heaters, fireplaces, gas logs, gas ranges and dryers.  My job consisted of meeting people in their homes offering products to help them improve the energy efficiency and comfort of their home.  Part of my time there also included the sale of windows and insulation products, again to save … (5 comments)

Okay.  Not totally speechless...  although the view from the train was more than magnificent!  The awesome beauty of Arizona's "other Grand Canyon" made for one of the most memorable Christmas season's I've seen in six decades!  I'll share more with you in this week preceding the new year.
We're blessed to live in Arizona!

A Bird In The Hand Is Worth - A Hike In The Bush ? - 12/23/09 08:53 AM
Jenny has the special touch!
Via Jenny Kotulak Oakville Real Estate (Broker RE/MAX Aboutowne Realty Corp. Oakville, Ontario):
This is a great time of the year  to seek  out the birds that don't fly south but stay put in  the Oakville area for the winter.  Hendrie Valley trail in Burlington, Ontario is a great place to see the non-migratory birds first "hand".
Getting up close and personal along the boardwalk is very easy.  Lots of strollers and hikers bring along  bird seed and the more tame, non skittish species such as Nuthatches and Chickadees will come and eat right out of your hand.

Via Richard Iarossi, Crofton MD Real Estate, Annapolis MD Real Estate (Long and Foster® Real Estate, Inc.):
After spending hours shoveling 24" of snow on Sunday, this is the scene I woke up to Monday morning when I needed to get the car out of the driveway. Another four feet high and about six feet deep. Ice packed, of course.

Lit Up For the Holidays - 12/22/09 04:26 PM

Via Myrl Jeffcoat (GreatWest GMAC Real Estate):
For some crazy reason this year, I've been slow on the uptake for putting up my holiday decorations.  I've been in "Simplify" and "Less is more" mode all month! However, this evening while I was gallivanting about on a couple errands, I came across this house on Lisa Marie Way in Carmichael. The homeowners are obviously CRAZY about Christmas! If anything was going to make me feel like a slacker this holiday season, this abundantly decorated house certainly did the job!Note the faces on the angels, choir and the various characters.  Each one is different - no … (4 comments)

Save money by spending a little money; Insulating a home. - 12/17/09 07:44 AM
Bill points out some bonuses of insulating homes.
Via Bill Somerset -ABR®, E-PRO®, Realtor®, Dover NH Real estate agent (Century21 Central Falls Realty):
This week I decided to save a little money on my home heating costs, and at the same time I'm eligible for a energy efficient tax credit.
By insulating my attic space in my home, I'm am now going to save a average of 250 gallons of home heating oil.  I'm adding 15-18 inches of energy star rated, blown in insulation.  A qualified contractor visited the house this morning and is completing the job early this afternoon.  A simple job, it … (2 comments)

Appreciation... - 12/16/09 03:04 PM
The embers glowed softly, and in their dim light,I gazed round the room and I cherished the sight. My wife was asleep, her head on my chest,My daughter beside me, angelic in rest.Outside the snow fell, a blanket of white,Transforming the yard to a winter delight.    The sparkling lights in the tree I believe,Completed the magic that was Christmas Eve. My eyelids were heavy, my breathing was deep,Secure and surrounded by love I would sleep. In perfect contentment, or so it would seem,So I slumbered, perhaps I started to dream. The sound wasn't loud, and it wasn't too near,But I opened … (0 comments)

Renovating or remodeling? Start with the foundation! - 12/01/09 07:40 AM

Via Russel Ray, San Diego home inspector (Russel Ray, Property Consultant):
As a former Realtor, a property investor/flipper, and now a home inspector, I've seen the best and worst of renovation and remodeling.
My own definition of the two is that remodeling is small scale and involves only selected rooms, while renovation gets much more extensive -- foundation repairs, new roof, etc.
I'm sure we've all remodeled a kitchen or bathroom. But how many of us have remodeled every room in the house, replaced every appliance, replaced the roof, repaired the foundation, redone the exterior walls, renovated the fireplace and chimney, … (2 comments)
