ross: Time to Protest Your Katy Texas Property Taxes - 04/03/13 01:09 AM
The time of year to protest your property taxes is upon us again. Remember, you should protest your property taxes every year whether or not your assessed value increases, decreases or stays the same. If you do not protest them every year, the taxing authority can raise your assessed value by up to 30% in a single year going back three years if you did not protest any of those three years and your value did not change. Why protest every year?...Even if your protest is unsuccessful, it counts as measure against a dramatic future increase.

ross: Is the next thing in sinks....NO SINKS? - 01/31/13 11:14 PM
I was at a country club the other day at a leadership council meeting and was in the restroom wanting to wash my hands before lunch. I went in and this is what I saw. No sinks! I hesitated to turn on the water because I thought they had yet to install sinks and I thought the water would go everywhere.  When I did finally turn on the water, without splashing, it quickly drained back into the wall. Wow! What a clever idea?! It just goes to show you never really know what is next.

Well, my experience was no exception. 1:10 AM on a Saturday morning to be exact. Not the chirp from a bad power source but the screeching alert of smoke detection. I got up and searched the house and garage inside and out and detected no signs of danger so I went back to bed. 2:10 AM, here we go again. I get up; go check the entire house, garage, inside and out … (1 comments)
