Grass Isn't Always Greener - 10/26/11 09:54 PM
Maybe you have been looking for a home for awhile. You have found some that you like and you have found some that you love! Then why not make an offer? Your neighbor told you that the house down the street is coming on the market and you have always admired it. What great fun it would be to live in such a beautiful home! Maybe you should wait on that house. Maybe you should wait on another house that might come on the market soon. You can always come back to that one house you loved right? I mean no (2 comments)
A Buyer's Market doesn't mean FIRE SALE for Charleston, WV homes! As with all markets, the housing sector has it's ups and downs. Supply and demand. When there are more buyers than there are sellers, we have a Seller's Market. Housing prices head upward as more people are trying to buy fewer homes. On the flip side, when we have more Charleston WV homes than we do buyer's, prices drop as we are in a Buyer's Market. What this does not mean is that every single seller is desperate and will accept offers of 50% off the current list price. This (2 comments)
Home values may be dipping right now, but you should remember that buying a house is a long term investment and that all markets are cyclical.
The Charleston, WV home market is also fairly stable compared to the national average and not prone to the extreme high and lows others experience. (0 comments)

To rent or buy a Charleston, WV home, that is the question! While it is doubtful William Shakespeare would have the answer to that question, my reply would be to buy!
I am not saying that because I am a REALTOR. There are some people that absolutely should NOT be buying a home. But if you are ready and financially able, then there is no time like the present. Let’s review the numbers and the emotions of buying versus renting in the Charleston, WV area.

At 9 MPG, this is the answer on how to get from one gas station to the next! My beloved 1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z28. I had long wanted one exactly like this and was finally able to purchase one in late 2005. Unfortunately, because of a change in circumstances and partly due that I was no longer able to maintain the car with my skill set, I sold it in 2009. I took this photo not long after buying the car. It is at the WV State Capitol Complex in front of the West Virginia Veteran's Memorial. (4 comments)

If all your friends jumped off a bridge, would you? - 10/01/11 04:29 PM
The answer is Yes! That is if it is Bridge Day at the New River Gorge Bridge, the third largest arch bridge in the world, in West Virginia. Come October 15, 2011 people will do that as we celebrate the 32nd Annual Bridge Day. Every year approximately 80,000 people flock to the Route 19 New River Gorge Bridge in Fayetteville, West Virginia to watch as brave folks B.A.S.E. jump and rappel off a platform almost 900 feet above the river below. This is the only day you are legally allowed to B.A.S.E jump (parachute off fixed items) off the bridge. Surprisingly in over 30 (5 comments)
