Dallas Surging Ahead of Other Cities

While cities everywhere are struggling economically, Dallas will emerge as the nation’s strongest and most exciting city in 2009. In these gloomy times, while the country seems to have so little to cheer about, the nation will notice the great achievements and celebration taking place in Dallas. Dallas’ growth and success has often surged during the worst economic times. Since the 1890s, Dallas has surpassed stronger and larger cities throughout the US. Dallas is doing this again as the Winspear Opera House and the Wyly Theater open in the Arts District, as Trinity Park emerges and the 50-story, mile-long Santiago Calatrava-designed bridges begin to soar. The Dallas area already has the nation’s largest number of corporate headquarters in the U.S. – and this is before the second downtown for Dallas is scheduled to emerge, a mixed-use development with 100-story skyscrapers and single-family, street level housing, located on the 60 acres on the west side of the Trinity.

Dallas, Texas Historically Turns Toughest Times to Its Advantage

Historically, Dallas has turned the meanest times to its advantage. In the Depression of 1892, John Armstrong began contemplating Highland Park, which he opened in 1906. In 1900, Main Street was paved with bois d’arc logs and the population was 42,000 people. To read more why the population in Dallas will continue 100 years of rapid growth while other cities continue to decline, visit the Dallas Architecture Blog.

Land Prices Will Double As a Result of Neighborhood Gates Installed for President Bush

Gated neighborhoods in Preston Hollow are rare. Gates for public streets are almost unheard of. Once the gates are put on Daria for the protection and benefit of President and Mrs. Bush the land on his street will double in price. To find out why the land prices have been low on Daria and Daria Place and why the land prices will soar in value once the gates are installed, read the entire blog post at the Dallas Real Estate Blog.

President and Mrs. Bush’s Next Home

Within minutes of Mrs. Bush mentioning to the media that they had selected a home in Dallas, I posted a photograph of the home (see Dallas Architecture Blog) and a discussion of why this would be a good home for them. Until the President and First Lady were ready to announce they had selected or purchased a home it seemed inappropriate for me to make the announcement for them, even though their good friend from Midland, Robert McCleskey, showed up on the tax rolls three weeks ago as the owner of this property which in itself is a public announcement of their decision.

Two months ago I presumed they had purchased 10141 Daria Place because they seemed to stop looking at houses and the Daria Place home with the lot-value home next door as a package is a junior version in location, size and configuration to the home I discussed on my blog in April that I thought would be best suited for the President and Mrs. Bush.

This home on Daria Place had been on the market for six months and previously under contract which fell through. The lot-value home next door is currently under contract which presumably will be purchased for the Secret Service. You can visit Dallas Architecture Blog to read the original post on the recommended home for President and Mrs. Bush and the latest post discussing why the Daria Place home has many of the same characteristics and is also well-suited to them.

President and Mrs. Bush Close to Announcing Their New Home

As time draws near that President and Mrs. Bush will be announcing where they will be living in Dallas. Their public comments make clear what sort of home they will move into. The rumors persist that they are buying a large home in Highland Park or a mansion in Preston Hollow. Some rumors have had them buying extraordinarily expensive lots in Highland Park or Preston Hollow. In my opinion, President and Mrs. Bush will move to Preston Hollow on a standard estate size lot with a home that has 4,000 to 6,000 square feet and additional quarters or space for the Secret Service. It will probably be on a secluded street that provides privacy and yet easy access to the new office, Bush Library and Crawford where they will be spending their weekends. To get a sense of the home that fits these criteria and other elements that will prove beneficial and enjoyable to the President and Mrs. Bush, visit my Dallas Architecture Blog. Here, you will see a photograph of a home as well as a discussion and comments on why this is the type of home that will satisfy their needs and desires for a weekday residence in Dallas.

George Bush Buys New Home in Dallas?

UPDATE: Read the Dallas Real Estate Blog for the latest news on President Bush's new residence

With George Bush about to lose his 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue address, you are probably wondering where the president is moving. Since I am not one to jump on the rumor mill, I decided it best to avoid the speculation and instead speak to the person who I consider closest to the President’s family and who I trust most.

With the political race being such a hot (and polarizing) topic, I figured this would be a great “inaugural” post for my newly unveiled Dallas Real Estate Blog.

So to get the inside information on “W’s” real estate portfolio, check out my post on the Dallas Architecture Blog. I’m interested to hear your feedback (on both my blog and the article).

And yes, that is an actual quote from George Bush. :-)
