Without rehashing in depth yesterday's news that Zillow hired Jay Thompson, the company's second significant hire in the last couple of weeks, there was a theme that appeared in the comment streams that should be of concern to anyone who sells real estate.
Paraphrasing, it is the idea if anyone can build a bridge between Zillow and the real estate community, it's Jay.
The problem is, we as the real estate industry shouldn't be seeking to build a bridge with third-party sites such as Zillow or Trulia (and you also can argue Realtor.Com.) We should be viewing them as the interlopers … (4 comments)

I’m going to carry the current internecine real estate debate about the syndication of listings to third-party sites such as Zillow and Trulia home to your door step. If you ever have used one of these sites to search for homes, or if you know anyone who ever has done so, you absolutely must make sure you read this.
