There are many sites for viewing the Cherry Blossoms in the Washington DC area. This year plan to set aside some time in late March instead of early April for this splendid occasion. The specialists say that in 2012, the peak time for enjoying the Cherry Blossoms around Jefferson Memorial and Tidal Basin will be from March 24 to March 31st. Blooms there will begin to open around March 22.
