Why We Celebrate Memorial Day - 05/30/11 01:40 PM
Mimi Thank you for this post. I will reblog so that I can send the message locally. This is actually the second Memorial Day post I reblogged. Via Mimi Foster - Realtor Colorado Springs (EPIC Real Estate Group Real Estate Colorado Springs): As we gather with our families and friends and loved ones this Holiday weekend, may we be truly mindful of what we honor this day. Sometimes It's the Small Picture that Helps Sell a Home - Home Staging Vancouver, B.C. - 05/30/11 01:20 PM
Hi Sally, I thought I would repost this locally. I love those small, creative, vignettes that can be created when homes are staged. Loved your photos and what you were able to share. Via Sally Weatherley-Exit Stage Right-Vancouver BC (EXIT STAGE RIGHT): Sometimes It's the Small Picture that Helps Sell a Home - Home Staging Vancouver, B.C. We're often concerned with the "big picture" when staging homes. Sorting out furniture that needs to be brought in, or rearranging existing furniture is extremely important. The big picture concerns itself with where art should be placed, adding area rugs and dressing the

Via Tom Branch | Broker, CDPE, SFR | Plano TX Community Ambassador | 214-227-6626 (RE/MAX Dallas Suburbs): As a retired combat veteran, Memorial Day holds a special meaning to me. I've lost friends who made the ultimate sacrifice defending our way of life. While the memory of the personal loss fades with time, the ideals that they believed in have grown stronger. Seeing the flag raised and hearing the National Anthem played still brings tears to my

The Depths of Planting - 05/18/11 03:15 PM
* Reprint Courtesy of Brad Gurr May 15th , 2011 This time of year will always find me answering questions at plant sales or speaking with students about the importance of planting trees. Unfortunately this year an unseasonal cold prevented me from speaking at either. I did manage to attend and was able to confirm the old saying that " you have two ears and one mouth so listen twice as often as you speak". While my voice was out of commission I was able to stand back take a few pictures and listen to one of my fellow arborists speaking

Why Sell Now? - 05/12/11 05:49 PM
Spring is in the air. Flowers are blooming, the birds are chirping and, now that the weather is turning warmer, people are getting out of their homes more. While springtime means that a young man's fancy turns to love, it also means that more people are looking to buy a new home. So, if you want to move from your Westchester, Putnam or Dutchess County home, you're in luck. But, why sell now? Spring has always been a hot time in the real estate market, especially in May. School is ending, the weather's not so dreary anymore and people are looking

The Perfect Pairing of Sunlight and Water - 05/11/11 04:15 PM
Thanks Myrl. I know a few local wine lovers that would appreciate the information. I thought I would reblog this to share with my friends. Via Myrl Jeffcoat (Real Living Great West Real Estate): (Slide show has 11 images) "Wine is the sunlight held together by water." - A quote by physicist, philosopher and stargazer, Galileo. A journey to California's Napa Wine Country, allows one to embrace those words. California wines were brought to the world forefront, in 1976, when Napa Valley's Chateau Montelena Winery placed first, in the famous "Judgment in Paris" tasting at the Inter-Continental Hotel. Chateau Montelena's 1973 Chardonnay rated above

Buying a Home vs Renting One - 05/06/11 05:57 PM
Have you been renting and are now considering purchasing a Westchester, Putnam or Dutchess County home? How do you know if now is the right time to buy? Consider the following when determining whether to buy a home or continue renting one instead: RENTINGPositive - When you rent a home, you have little to no responsibility for its maintenance. If something goes wrong, you can contact your landlord or Property Manager to come take care of it. The cost for this is something that is added into your rental fee. It is also much easier to move out of a rental
