These are my thoughts and in no way represent the thoughts of the Houston Association of Realtors
1. Why are we still funding RPR with less than 11% of the membership using it after 3 years? 2. Why are we spending millions on the credit union when less than 3% of NAR members have EVER used it? 3. Why are we spending millions on a "University" that only has 23 students? We could have sent them all to Harvard University, paid for room and board and all of the (2 comments)

Directors Rescind Franchisor MLS IDX Display Policy The NAR Board of Directors meeting at the end of the 2011 REALTORS® Conference & Expo in Anaheim on Monday voted to rescind a Multiple Listing Service policy on the display of Internet Data Exchange (IDX) listings on franchisors' Web sites.A work group has been tasked to broaden the policy to address listing displays over mobile devices and via social media (with a broker opt-out option). Listing data sent via RSS (Really Simple syndication) won't be included because of the difficulty in controlling access to RSS feeds. In other changes to MLS policy, directors took (0 comments)
nar: Realtor Party Political Survival Initiative - My Take on It #midyear #rppsi - 05/12/11 06:33 PM
The National Association of Realtors, NAR, is about to have another controversial vote at the Sat board meeting. It is called the REALTOR® Party Political Survival Initiative. NAR has put 2 options out for the board of directors to vote on. And in my opinion, they are both BAD options. Don’t get me wrong, I think we need to do something and do something fast. I just believe NAR is CRAMMING something down our throats and it does not taste very good.
PROPOSAL “A”

nar: I want to tell you a story about a Continental flight attendant - 05/21/09 08:04 AM
This story starts out at the NAR Midyear Conference and Board Meeting and WCR event in Washington DC May 11-16, 2009. After a very long week at the trade show, this flight attendant, Debbie Terrago did something I think needs to be brought to everyone’s attention. You see this flight attendant is also a fellow Realtor® and because of her, a completely full 737, was able to continue on to Houston... One of the flight attendants, working the flight became very ill right after takeoff and could not work the flight... and federal rules require 4 flight attendants on this flight. (7 comments)
nar: Get the Economy Moving - Support NAR's Four-Point Plan - 12/17/08 07:33 AM
Subject: Reviving the real estate market must be the focus of a future stimulus bill As a constituent and a Realtor, I ask that Congress focus any future stimulus package on reinvigorating housing markets. The current crisis is the result of problems in the nation's housing markets. Efforts to boost the economy must calm jittery real estate markets. Earlier, the National Association of Realtors (NAR) proposed a 4-Point Housing Stimulus Plan that should be part of any new stimulus package. NAR's plan would: *Make the $7500 first-time homebuyer tax credit available to all buyers and eliminate repayment requirements. The credit's limited (3 comments)
