house: Economic Stimulus Act Signed Into Law - What does it mean for homebuyers? - 02/17/09 12:02 PM
As I write this, the president is poised to sign the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, better known as the $787 billion Economic Stimulus Plan. There has been much speculation about what this plan might do for housing, real estate, homebuyers, and mortgages, ranging from 2.99% to 4.5% mortgage rates, $15,000 tax credits, and more, but when the dust settles and the plan is signed into law, the final effect will be quite different.

house: Rhode Island Primary Today, also Introducing Ryan McGill - 09/09/08 10:59 AM
Today in Rhode Island, we have a primary election for US Senate, House, and for the Rhode Island General Assembly.  Big surprise when I found out that my poling place had been moved.  Again.  But after a little running around, it turned out it had been moved back to the fire station where it had previously been located. 
Getting into the station, it was pretty clear that there was no one there.  Other than the poling place volunteers, there were 2 firefighters tossing around a football, maybe hoping to fill in for Tom Brady this weekend, and that was it.  It … (2 comments)
