realtor: Featured Posts (Use Them For Good)!!! - 03/22/08 08:51 PM
I think what amazes me the most about those who are members of the Active Rain community is just how unselfish and helpful you people really are. I have learned so much from reading your posts and I have shared and used the information given. However, I still fail to understand the criteria for getting a featured post. I thought it may have something to do with the time of the post, after all those who judge the posts are not awake 24/7. Wrong! No correlation at all. I thought they might only be given to those with

Since I am currently in the process of helping a client who is interested in exchanging property, I am no expert at this and am still learning the intracacies of the process, I thought I could help myself and others to post the following article. My broker has told me that the actual work done by the Realtor is rather simple, write the contract, and the rest of the work is done by an intermediary (lawyer or registered professional). Sure there may be a lot of leg work, part of the job, but it sure is beneficial to you and

Flipping through the channels, I stopped on TLC (The Learning Channel), where one of the thousand or so house shows, MOVING UP I believe is the name, was on. A young lady who had just bought a home was walking through the home with her friend. There were many holes, rat traps, rat feces, dead bugs, etc.... The friend asked her if she had done a preclosing inspection and she said "No, because my REALTOR told me to skip the inspection and sign the papers as soon as I could if I really wanted the house." We all know that getting the listing is our lifeblood. Without them we obviously would not be able to sustain our careers. However, when you compromise your integrity and go so far as to buy a listing, you are not doing you or your client any favors. My first experience with this happened recently while trying to list a home in a nice quiet neighborhood on Amelia Island.
