daar: Help Out Local Causes at the DAAR Charity Auction - 10/08/08 12:11 PM
The Dulles Area Association of Realtors (DAAR) is sponsoring the 17th annual charity auction and dinner to raise funds for Loudoun County charities at River Creek Country Club in Leesburg.
More than $39,000 was raised and donated to local charities last year. Proceeds benefitted Rebuilding Together-Christmas In April, Good Shepherd Alliance, Loudoun Abused Women's Shelter-Children's Services, Loudoun Cares, Loudoun Families for Children, Volunteers of American Emergency Shelter and Volunteers of America Transitional Housing Shelter.

After months of meetings and work by the Dulles Area Association of REALTORS® (DAAR) Technology and Communications Committees and various other DAAR staff including Ben Lizik (programmer), the new DAAR web site is up and running.
The overall focus of the new site was to create greater engagement and communication amongst Realtor® members, the public and the media. Much like any blog, you are able (and encouraged) to leave comments and opinions on the site regardless of whether you're a Realtor® or not.

Friday, April 4, 2008 marked the first ever BloggerCon at the Dulles Association of Realtors (DAAR) in Leesburg, Virginia. Our host was Ben Martin, Director of Communication and New Media, Virginia Association of Realtors. There were almost 30 Realtors from around the area, including southern Virginia and Maryland who came out for the event. They span from those who have been blogging for years as well as those who don't have a blog, would like to, but don't know where to start.

daar: Home Prices in Loudoun County to Remain Flat for the Next 4 Years?! - 07/27/07 05:25 PM
If the past is any indication of the future of real estate prices in Loudoun County, then we are in for another 5 years of little if any price appreciation in Loudoun County.  According to annual statistics on the Dulles Area Association of Realtors website, the last market slowdown/correction occurred in 1990 when the average sales price dropped from $181,800 in 1989 to $170,100 the next year.  The market didn't get back to that high water mark until 1994.
