atlanta braves: Mets Meltdown in Atlanta - 05/22/08 09:39 PM
Earlier tonight I wrote a post on my other blog entitled Braves Attempt to sweep Mets tonight. Well, it is no longer an attempt as they withstood the test of Johan Santana and the New York Mets as they spin off yet another home win to lead all the majors for home victories. What really gets me is the fact that everyone was practically handing the Mets the Nation League East Pennant when they signed Santana and stating that he would be the next big thing in New York to bring home a World Series Trophy. But, that is not

atlanta braves: Braves Sweep Mets Doubleheader - 05/21/08 08:52 AM
*Disclaimer* Click on the banners for a trip to another world. Atlanta was loving the fact that Tom Glavine was back in a Braves uniform. With that said, the New York Mets hated that very fact as he was virtually unbreakable. The 42 year old made a believer out of the Mets batters as he would bend a lot but would not break as he gave up 1 run on just 3 hits and that being a solo home run in the first inning to Luis Castillo. Mark Teixeira had a field day with the Mets in game one

atlanta braves: Road Woes Continue - 05/11/08 10:09 AM
The Atlanta Braves enjoy the confines of Turner Field this year. This is something that they could not say last year. Currently leading the majors with a 14 - 4 home stand record, the Atlanta Braves could be enjoying success if they could just figure out how to win on the road. With an almost identically backwards record on the road of 4 - 13, it does not take one long to figure why these guys are not on top. Soon, and very soon, they will figure it out and then and only then will teams fear the day that the

atlanta braves: Braves Baseball - 05/08/08 05:23 PM
Can any team be hotter than the Atlanta Braves? With Chipper Jones and Manny Acosta providing the power in hitting and closing, the Braves are on a roll like you have never seen before. As for the pitching, the Braves have currently on the DL Mike Gonzalez, Mike Hampton, Anthony Lerew, Peter Moylan, John Smoltz, Rafael Soriano. These 6 pitchers were figured in to be big parts of the plans this year. The Braves have enjoyed success on the most recent home stand but it still seems like it is all for naught as they still remain 3rd in their division.

atlanta braves: John Smoltz makes history. - 04/23/08 07:44 PM
Last night I got to witness a piece of baseball history as John Smoltz racked up his 3000th strikeout. Now, to put this into perspective, there are only 15 other pitchers to ever accomplish this feat. I have to tell you whether you like the braves or not, you have to tip you hat to this man because he is truly an ambassador to the game of baseball. I have added a video and the new list of the top 16 to achieve this.

atlanta braves: Baseball - Opening Day - 03/28/08 11:25 AM
This years opening day actually took place overseas in Japan and pitted the Oakland Athletics against the Boston Red Sox in a 2 game series that saw each team come away with a victory. With that being said, the Opening Day game here in the United States will pit the Atlanta Braves against the Washington Nationals. How fitting to have America's team go up against the Nation's capital's team. Atlanta will be sending right hander Tim Hudson to the mound to square off against the former Atlanta Braves left hander Odalis Perez. Both pitchers are looking good and both teams are

atlanta braves: Local Baseball and what it means to our community - Baseball Talk 101 Contest - 03/11/08 03:15 PM
Atlanta and the greater metro area is blessed to have the Atlanta Braves. The Braves organization brings a lot to the community and to Metro Atlanta as a whole. Besides the ability to see a major league games, meet stars, get autographs, and spend a day at the park, you have to step back and take a look at what these people do for the community. First and foremost, having a team like the Braves is an attraction to the area. An attraction that not only brings in revenue from visitors, but potential homeowners. Baseball fans come into our fair region

atlanta braves: Mark Kotsay to patrol Center Field for the 2008 Atlanta Braves - 01/15/08 08:09 PM
The Braves new GM finally can breathe a sigh of relief. Mark Kotsay is officially an Atlanta Brave now that he has cleared medical exams. The Commissioners office provide the stamp of approval yesterday to seal this deal as Atlanta sent Joey Devine and minor Leaguer Jaime Richmond to the Oakland Athletics for the star center fielder. Now, granted, Kotsay will not supply the power that Andruw did, but that is why Atlanta acquire Mark Teixeira from the Texas Rangers last year. It is shaping up to be a good squad that Atlanta can run out every day. I can not

atlanta braves: How to make $36 Million in 2 years. - 01/03/08 02:05 PM
All you have to do is be Andruw Jones. It baffles me how someone can command so much money and at times, can not hit the side of the barn. Here is a guy that in the last year of his contract with Atlanta batsa miserable .222 and hits a measly 26 home runs and does not even break the 100 RBI mark. Yet, he nows gets $36.2 million over the next 2 seasons? Dodgers signed outfielder Andruw Jones, who had been with the Braves, to a two-year, $36.2 million contract. The extra $200,000 Jones is earning just so that he can say
