music: Music and Sounds: Making of a Video - 01/10/09 10:05 AM
Have you ever been watching a 360 tour of a property and wondered why there was no music. Did you think to yourself that it would flow just a little better with some music. What about when you are making a 360 tour? Have you ever thought about how great it would be to add music to it?
Well, today, I came across a site that sales sound effects as well as music. One of the great things that I liked about the sound effects were that these are Royalty Free. For our business, the word free is king. The less … (7 comments)

music: Music - Power Quotes Series - 07/07/08 03:52 AM
Music is always been inspirational to me. Regardless of the genre there always seems to be a message in the words if you listen. Today's quotes hits very close to home for me and I hope for you too.
When I am done, I can turn on a song to bring a smile to my face. When I am lonely, I can turn on music to be with someone. When I am scared, I can turn on music to be made to feel safe. And when I am happy, I can listen to music and be jubilant.
I hope that you … (5 comments)

music: My Memorial Day Tribute - 05/23/08 01:44 PM
I have to say that Lee Greenwood has the best song that I can use to express the way that I feel toward our veterans and our current military personel and their family. I do not want to write a long drawn out post today, but insted I just want to say thank you for all you have done for us and for all that you continue to do in this day and time. It truly is a pleasure and a reassurance that our military lay their lives on the line daily to protect our soil and I for one will … (14 comments)

music: Kiss the Rain. - 05/07/08 01:02 PM
Enjoy the music as you read this post. Well, I have just one thing to say at this moment. I’m back.

And Frankly, I have missed this place and missed all the friends that I have made here. I have to say thank you for all the emails and the calls that I have received. I guess you never really never know what kind of impact that you have had on a place or the people in that place until you are away for some time. I had to spend that time away and I am back now, refreshed because I … (13 comments)

music: Giving - Power Quotes Series - 04/23/08 02:28 AM
This might be one of the most powerful things that any person can possess. It is GIVING. I see this characteristic practiced the most at the holiday times which leaves me to wonder where it goes for the other 11 months? In my opinion, this is something that you should practice every day. Giving in the right spirit is returned to you 100 fold.
If it is no more than giving of your time or maybe it is giving your neighbor a lift down the road, or maybe it is helping your colleague out with something they do not understand. Giving … (12 comments)

music: 10 year old blows all away - 04/20/08 04:43 AM
I was surfing around this morning and ran across this video of this cute little Swedish girl, Zara Larrson, who blows everyone away with her amazing voice in this talent search. I believe that a voice like hers is not something that we come across often. I knew that once I saw this video, I had to share this with all my friends here.

music: Never Alone on ActiveRain - 04/03/08 05:03 PM
This is my 400th post and I wanted to make something special out of it. The first thing is, you can play this song as we go along. I truly think that it is quite fitting for this post.
When I started out on this road 7+ months ago, I knew nothing about ActiveRain, social networks, blogging, or much less how to right code like I do now. I owe all of those things to ActiveRain and the community and support staff here.

When I started, I would have laughed at you if you told me that in 7 months I … (20 comments)

music: New Attitude - 04/01/08 10:44 AM
Today, I got the honor of speaking to Brad Andersohn who just so happens to be ActiveRain's newest employee. In the beginning of the conversation, I was intimidated to even be one the phone with this guy. When it was all said and done, I was talking to him like we were old college buddies. For those of you that know him, you know what I am talking about. For those that do not know him, you should give him a call. He is a great guy and down to Earth.
In speaking to Brad he asked me what my goal … (19 comments)

music: You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin' - 04/01/08 03:57 AM
Lately, as I stroll through the rain, I run across people that have lost that loving feeling for ActiveRain. I visited one profile yesterday that had signed up 6 months ago and since then has written 3 blogs and made 8 comments and left. Rich, my business partner on The Thornton Team, had a person comment on one of his blogs that I thought was a great blog and the guy made a negative comment about the post. When Rich went to check the guy out, he found that the guy has been in the Rain for almost 2 years and … (34 comments)

music: Free Hug - 03/05/08 12:27 PM
I was on another social network that I belong to and a friend sent me this video. It might be one of the most powerful things that I have ever encounter. This video has been hit over 24 million times and after watching it I can see why. This post will not be long and drawn out. It is simple. Take five minutes and watch the video and then follow this link and read about Free Hug Campaign. It will touch your heart and soul. About the Author

music: It's all about music - a Recap of my Inspride by Song Post - 03/05/08 02:23 AM
Back on 11/01/2007 Adam Waldman, Jason Crouch, and Paul Slaybaugh created the group Inspired By Song. If you click on the links above, you will go to their profile pages of to the group. If you click on the pictures below, you will go to their blogs. Now, these three guys needs no promoting from me as all three have a tremendous following as well as the group does.

With that being said, the reason for this post is a recap of the music that I have posted about in this group. To date, I have 25 post that I … (11 comments)

music: When does the pain end? - 03/04/08 01:43 PM
For the last couple of nights, I have had this song going through my head. There must be someone out there that needs to hear this, so I need to get it off my chest. You will need a kleenex.
The year was 1996 and I was living in a small town outside Atlanta. I was coaching a youth basketball team ages 15 and 16 year olds. It was my second year in this division and I was loving it. Things were awesome. Playoffs began and as always, my guys were treated as the underdogs. We made it to the semi-final game … (27 comments)

music: Land of Confusion - A Political View - 03/02/08 12:28 PM
With the political world heating up and everyone picking their sides, I thought I would throw my hat in the ring. Now, mind you, I am not picking sides. I am just stating a point here. If you can figure it out, let me know.
I came across a video form years back that I thought I would share with everyone tonight. The song was written in 1986 by Genesis, or more precisely by the lead singer Mike Rutherford of Genesis. Enjoy.

music: ActiveRain, I Quit You - 02/27/08 10:37 PM
I can not believe this place. It is unreal how things are done here. I am treated so bad. I can not believe that I ever joined this place. I must have been crazy. The people that run this place are idiots. Why can't I get my way. I am over this and I am going to take my toys and go play elsewhere.
Oh my god, I can not believe all these different things that I hear daily. Oh, Wait. You thought that was me? You thought that I was leaving ActiveRain? Please! It would take an army to take … (30 comments)

music: If tomorrow never comes. - 02/12/08 03:52 AM
I was reading a blog written by Colleen Fischesser. The blog was titled Would you be Missed? and it was thought provoking. In hers, she talks about if you would be missed if you left.
But here is the question I have for you to ponder. If something happened to you today, and there was no tomorrow, do people really know how you feel.
Does your co-workers know? Does your friends know. Does your clients know? Does your business partners know? Does your kids know? Does your family know? Does your spouse or significant other know? Do you even know.
My question is … (10 comments)

music: Is your Life Tried or Merely Survived. - 02/11/08 11:40 PM
Several years ago, Garth Brooks did a song called "Standing Outside the Fire". As the video is more to do with a child's desire to try out for the track team as opposed to Special Olympics, it has a lot to do with us.
Too many times have I witnessed people that would not take a chance. Too many times have I witnessed people that would rather sit on the sidelines instead of getting out and pushing themselves to the next level. Too many times do people give up and want to merely survive instead or living their life tried.
My good friend … (2 comments)

music: The Best of Times - My trek to 100,000 points - 02/11/08 07:05 AM
As I started thinking about achieving this goal last week, I decided that I would simply write a blog about what I accomplished on ActiveRain. I was going to go on and on about the groups I created, the people I invited, the comments I received, the comments I have made, how many times my profile has been view, and on and on. Then, as I started to write this, all that seemed to fade away or lose meaning for this post. And, I thought that this song would be fitting for the celebration. Tonight, we will make history.

music: Climbing a Mountain or a Mole Hill: my time in ActiveRain - 02/05/08 02:26 AM
Since joining ActiveRain, I have often wondered if I was climbing a mountain or if I was stepping over a molehill. It did not take me long to figure out which it was. When I first came to ActiveRain, I was overwhelmed at what I wanted to accomplish. I had joined groups in the past only to loose interest in what they could do for me or for my business. Not with ActiveRain. The people here began to suck me in deeper and deeper until I soon became a Pioneer for the Rain. I went looking for my own recruits and … (14 comments)

music: Changes - What do they hold for you? - 02/04/08 10:43 AM
I have been thinking about this for a long time. Changes can be good, changes can be bad, but changes are inevitable. It is how you deal with those changes that will make or break the person.
When I was a branch manager for Countrywide, we were required to read a book a month. The one that stuck with me the most is WHO MOVED MY CHEESE by Spencer Johnson, MD and Kenneth Blanchard. It is to the point and I would recommend it to anyone that is in sales. In this book, it discusses the inevitable changes and the different ways … (75 comments)

music: ActiveRain, I want you - 01/25/08 04:54 PM
Last night on the way home, on the sirius radio comes Savage Garden from 1997 and it reminded me of something that Linda Futral said in one of her post. She was marring ActiveRain.
When I listen to this song, it brings me back to when I joined ActiveRain back on September 15th, 2007. I was reluctant to join. I knew that I wanted to join, I just did not know if I needed to join.
With that being said, I know I want ActiveRain and I know I need ActiveRain. It is a prefect marriage.
