pro: Local Baseball and what it means to our community - Baseball Talk 101 Contest - 03/11/08 03:15 PM
Atlanta and the greater metro area is blessed to have the Atlanta Braves. The Braves organization brings a lot to the community and to Metro Atlanta as a whole. Besides the ability to see a major league games, meet stars, get autographs, and spend a day at the park, you have to step back and take a look at what these people do for the community.
First and foremost, having a team like the Braves is an attraction to the area. An attraction that not only brings in revenue from visitors, but potential homeowners. Baseball fans come into our fair region … (6 comments)

pro: WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS - 02/03/08 10:20 PM

For all of the people that believed in the BIG BLUE, this song is for you. For all you that remained faithful to your Patriots, it was a great game. For all the haters, you are the losers in this Super Bowl.
What a game it was. it was a defensive struggle for both teams. And, in the end, it was the Giants that played the better game and it is time for Eli to shine.
Now, for all that hated on Eli all year long, I hope that you find some respect. And, look at it this way, a Manning has … (37 comments)

pro: Mark Kotsay to patrol Center Field for the 2008 Atlanta Braves - 01/15/08 08:09 PM

The Braves new GM finally can breathe a sigh of relief. Mark Kotsay is officially an Atlanta Brave now that he has cleared medical exams. The Commissioners office provide the stamp of approval yesterday to seal this deal as Atlanta sent Joey Devine and minor Leaguer Jaime Richmond to the Oakland Athletics for the star center fielder. Now, granted, Kotsay will not supply the power that Andruw did, but that is why Atlanta acquire Mark Teixeira from the Texas Rangers last year. It is shaping up to be a good squad that Atlanta can run out every day. I can not … (23 comments)

pro: NFL Playoffs - Week 3 in review. - 01/15/08 11:40 AM
So, last week it looks as thought the AFC killed me in picks and I was on the money with the NFC. So, this week, being that there are only the 2 games, lets see how we can fair.
First, lets start with the AFC. San Diego goes to New England for the AFC Championship. Now, as strong as San Diego played last week and as much as I would love to see it happen, I do not think that the banged up Chargers can handle the New England Patriots. Moss did nothing last week, but Brady was sure on fire starting … (23 comments)

pro: Harry Caray - My Tribute Series - 01/10/08 12:18 PM
When I created this group, one of the things that I wanted to do was write a few post on people that meant a lot to me in baseball. So, this will be the first in many future entries on Tributes.
Back in the 80's, I had a summer job working down at the local Golf Driving Range. Now, during the day, in Small Town, USA, you do not get a lot of business, but, nonetheless, they still wanted it opened till late evenings. So, I would ride my bike to work or either jog there as it was only a couple … (33 comments)

pro: Childhood Baseball Memories - 01/08/08 07:50 PM

The year was 1984, the date was August 12th. I can remember going on a trip with our youth group to Atlanta Fulton County Stadium. I was stoked to get to see my childhood heroes do battle with the dreaded San Diego Padres. I remember this game above all others because Pascual Perez was on the mound and they had 2 bench clearing brawls and 19 ejections in this came.
I can remember Perez throwing at the lead off  batter first, and then for the next 4 innings, San Diego's pitcher tried to retaliate and just could never do it. (Rule of … (18 comments)

pro: Super Bowl XLII Playoffs - Week 2 Review - 01/08/08 02:51 PM
As promised, my review for Week 2 of the playoffs. Lets take a look at the current bracket. Now, if you follow my blogs, this is where I boost on my 4 for 4 selection last week.   This week, it will be a little tougher to duplicate that very effort, but I am going to attempt to do this right.
First up, we have the heading to Green Bay to take on the at 4:30 EST on Saturday. Now, normally I would lean toward Green bay on this game, but there are some issues that need to be discussed first. First off, these … (41 comments)
