success: Moving with Momentum! - 08/04/08 06:28 PM
The leader's best friend is the big "Mo" according to leadership expert John Maxwell.  Sometimes that begins with a phone call, an e-mail or simply a cheerful smile.  Moving forward with momentum is the key!
Each one of us as Real Estate Professionals (Agents, Home Stagers and all others) are leaders.  We must all create the big "Mo" to be successful.  That is much easier said than done.  Let's be realistic.  Many people are dropping out of the Real Estate Profession.  Leaders are found one at a time just like eagles.
Leaders must be courageous.  Even in the face of fear, leaders … (20 comments)

success: Active Rain Success Story: A Refreshing Eagle Experience in The Rain! - 07/13/08 04:29 PM
My beautiful and precious wife, Irene, created a post today entitled An Outstanding Leader Reveals How to Be An Effective Leader.  She dedicated the post to Gary Woltal because he was interested in finding out how a particular leader would impact her from a previous post she wrote.
Well, as most of us know, The Rain is a creative and connected community of some outstanding "eagles" who love to soar on the wind of inspiration from others.  Gary had just created a post today called Reach For The Eagle's Nest so my wife and I were soaking up his inspiration in … (20 comments)

success: Seven Steps to Increase Courage and Creativity - 05/28/08 11:33 PM
I keep seeing a pattern of success.  People who succeed find the right people at the right time in the right place.  How do they do that?

1)  They recognize that they work with people who want to solve specific problems.
2)  They offer resources that help people find the specific answers to their questions.
3)  They measure success by specific outcomes.
4)  They genuinely care about the specific values of people in their circle of influence.
5)  They help to create sharper focus.
6)  They demonstrate a spirit of excellence in every area of their … (38 comments)

success: What is Success? - 05/09/08 12:14 PM
We all have the same needs.
Each one of us needs to feel valued.  As we value ourselves and value others, we experience success!
Someone is looking for YOU right now!  When you meet that new client, will you be the gift with a lift?
Success is not something that you get.  Success is a person!
You are the success that you don't have to chase!
In the Western world, we have been lulled into a deception that success is about money and power.  We have become a detached "thing-a-fied" nation with more addictions than any nation in the world.
Was … (4 comments)

success: Ten Tips for a Bright and Bold Blog! - 05/02/08 12:07 PM
All of us want maximum visibility for ourselves.
I learned something that has stuck with me from a Professor in my recent doctoral studies who is a Hollywood film producer.  He said visibility is more important than ability.  Mediocre people who are highly visible are much more successful than outstanding people who are not well known.
I have discovered Ten Terrific Tips that will help all of us:
 1.  Use words that have maximum impact such as success, pain, focus, creative, frustrated, etc.
 2.  Imagine yourself with a problem that bugs you.  Think of problems that homeowners or sellers experience.
 3.  Start with the problem first such as … (14 comments)

success: The Value of Significance and Security - 05/01/08 03:06 PM
We all need to feel significant and secure!
Three questions everyone of us asks ourselves every day are:
1.  Am I loved?
2.  Am I accepted?
3.  Am I valued?
The answer to those three questions is YES, YES, YES!  You can be the difference maker!
You and your clients need to feel valued and become all you were created to be in a supportive relationship.
You don't need to be a professional counselor to your clients!  Just be their friend!
Your influence will be determined by your insight.
You just need to feel significant and secure and pass those feelings on to your clients!  Success will happen.
You are the success!
It's … (4 comments)

success: Tips on How to Market Yourself Creatively - 05/01/08 10:20 AM
Who are you?
Are you an agent or a home stager or are you a person?
Maybe you can try a different approach:
1. Identify the problem first.
2. Then offer some effective solutions.
People want to work with you because they feel you can help them solve their problem.
Let's think inside out for a minute.  You are a person who helps homeowners who have a problem.
What kind of problem?  A problem of selling or buying a home.
The more efficient you are at solving that problem, the more successful you will be.
Why not consider yourself a problem solver?
Why not market yourself as a … (1 comments)

success: Perception - 04/24/08 09:38 PM
One of the presidential candidates intrigues me.  I am thinking of Barack Obama.
He is one of the most creative people when it comes to his perception.  He is perceived by many people as a unifier.  He chooses his words wisely.
Even though his voting record is the most liberal in Congress, he is perceived as a moderate.  He is the most effective communicator of any candidate.
Perception is everything.  When people see you, what do they think of?  Left, middle or right.  Liberal or conservative.  Successful or unsuccessful.  Unifying or dividing.
In the real estate profession, how do people perceive you?  Are you creative?  … (2 comments)

success: Inside Out - 04/24/08 08:57 PM
How do you improve your perception?
Think inside out.  Your self esteem is viewed by others.  How they perceive you has a huge influence on your success.
I heard a story about two artists in New York.  Both of them had beautiful renderings.  One of them was extremely successful.  The other had to get another job just to make ends meet.
What was the difference?  The successful one perceived himself as successful and acted like he was.  The other perceived himself as barely getting by and obtained the results he thought.
When I created a public relations business about eleven years ago, I asked a … (2 comments)

success: It's All About You and People - 04/24/08 06:17 PM
The greatest resource all of us have is people.  People can build you up or tear you down.  The people who you build up or you build up have one key quality.
That quality is integrity.  If you are the same person publicly as well as privately by loving your neighbor as yourself, then you are well on your way to success.  People today are searching for authentic and transparent relationships.
If you are facing internal pain and conflicts, I encourage you to face your pain and work your way through it.  Do the difficult work of becoming real with your … (5 comments)
