Via Russel Ray, San Diego Marketing & Business Consultant (Russel Ray):
You're a new Realtor, or possibly even an experienced Realtor having problems in a slow market, or, really, any person who is self-employed or running a small business.
Do you know what you're doing and why you're doing it?
Do you know what your competition is doing?
In most cases, you have to at least know what the competition is doing. Once you know that, then you can modify, adapt, or add services that differentiate you from the competition.

Using YouTube videos without slowing down page loading - 02/28/10 11:06 PM

Via Russel Ray, San Diego Marketing & Business Consultant (Russel Ray):

I've noticed a lot of people use YouTube videos in their blogs, but when you use too many, especially in one blog entry, it can significantly slow the loading time for your blog or a specific entry.
As with web sites, people here at Active Rain seem to be in a hurry when it comes to reading blogs and commenting. Some comment on the title of the blog entry, which can be really strange if the title has very little to do with the content of the blog entry, which … (1 comments)

The topic I was given to speak about was, "Why Social Media Is Here To Stay." The reason is simple. Social Media is the love child of Social Networking and New Science. I actually wrote about this same topic here on ActiveRain in February of 2007, it just had a different title: "Why ActiveRain Is Working Even When It Fels Like It's Not." CAR WINDOW ADS. - 02/16/10 01:55 PM
CAR WINDOW ADS. These are different than leaving pamphlets on the windows of cars. This is where you have the entire surface of the inside of your car's windows covered up with a removable, light, paper sign. This sign could be a blueprint size photocopy with quick release fastener devices on the corners. The main benefit of this system is that when it gets dark out you can turn on your interior light and the entire sign becomes illuminated.

SHOPPING BAG SPONSORSHIP. The local grocery or drug store may want to co-operate on a sponsorship arrangement, as well. If you cover part or all of the cost of supplying the store's paper bag needs, the both of you will profit. You get the benefit of the exposure to their customers and they get the reduced operating costs of not having a bag supply expense. Many large supermarket stores are doing this already!

LO COST WORD PROCESSING. One of the best ways to get word processing done at a reasonable rate would be to hire a local student to operate one of the machines that you can rent at the local photocopy place. When the rate to have a professional do the complete job ranges between $50 to$60 per hour you could save considerably in hiring the student for about $8 to $12 per hour. The desk top publishing machine will probably rent for $8 to $12 per hour, as well, so together they are less than half the professional rate!
