The National Association of Realtors (NAR) reports both the number of homes and the median prices of those homes dropped last month. That's no surprise to many who are growing used to the trend spoken of consistently in the press. "The National Association of Realtors said Monday that sales of single-family homes and condominiums dropped by 0.4 percent last month to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4.89 million units, the slowest sales pace on records going back to 1999. The fires in California have sparked considerable aid contributions from many groups. The Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors (GLVAR) has donated to the California Association of Realtors disaster relief fund. Las Vegas Realtors are supportive of the restoration. Most of us can only imagine what it might be like to lose everything. It is good to help out.This is the second recent donation. Real Estate Magazine recently wrote an article claiming that "within the next five to 10 years minorities - the majority of them Hispanic - could account for up to 60% of all first-time home purchases." In fact, by 2050, as much as half of the country's population will be non-caucasian. Several changes have recently be made to the Las Vegas real estate agent code: NRS 645. One of these changes was an actual definition of "agency": a relationship between a principal and an agent arising out of a brokerage agreement whereby the agent is engaged to do certain acts on behalf of the principal in dealings with a third party. Other changes have also been made for clarification, etc.Another change, of several, was that a client can waive the duty to present all offers with informed, written consent.
