I think its very important to depersonalize a home that is on the market. When a buyer walks into a home with the sellers family photos everywhere it is very hard for them to imagine the home being theirs. Sellers should do everything necessary to make their home comfortable for buyers, if they want to sell. And a listing agent needs to be able to tell a seller what needs to be done, honestly, without sugar coating anything. If the seller has a prize collection of 91 figurines throughout their home, ask them to pack them up! I use the excuse that I would hate for anything to get broken, or I would hate for the buyers to be distracted by anything but the home.
