greenville county property taxes: Is Your Property Tax Bill Correct? - 11/15/10 02:54 PM
Recently, property tax bills were sent out by Greenville County for 2010. It is very important for you to carefully review this tax bill to make sure it is accurate. This morning I was shown a tax notice and immediately I saw that the "Taxable Market Value" for this property was too high. In this subdivision, no property had sold over a certain amount. greenville county property taxes: Paying Too Much In Property Taxes? - 11/20/09 07:34 AM
Are you paying too much in property taxes? Recently, property owners should have received their tax bill from the county. Look at it carefully!! Are you paying a 6% or 4% rate? Investment property is taxed at 6% and primary residences at 4%. However, the county assumes all property is investment property unless you have informed them that it is your primary residence. My office recently went through the tax records on 8 subdivisions that total about 800 homes. Approximately 15% of them were being taxed as investment properties. We sent letters to the homeowners telling them to check into this discrepency.
