We are not proponents of Adjustable Rate Mortgages for most people primarily due to three factors:1. The average person does not fully understand how their rate will be adjusted once it reaches the adjustment period. Many people do not receive good explanations or advice from the loan officer regarding the adjustment period and how the new rate will be calculated. For example, many A.R.M.s that started at 5.00% will rise to 8.00% or higher on their first adjustment.
