real estate: From the beginning again? - 03/01/12 04:27 PM
I recently read a blog article by Chris Brogan one of my favorite writers. http://www.chrisbrogan.com In his article he makes the statement that it is important to occasionally start from the beginning to let your new readers understand what you are all about. His statement is back up with examples, and it started me to thinking about my own blogging efforts. I have been blogging for over a year now, and maybe it is time to explain what I do here. So here goes. I am a REALTOR®, but I hope you wont hold this against me or stop you from visiting and revisiting

real estate: What Do Home Buyers and Sellers Want? - 09/07/10 10:03 AM
A few years ago I ask this questions, and I am still asking it today. I am really serious about this, and would like to open a dialog asking anyone that is thinking about purchasing or selling a home or has bought or sold a home in the past to respond. It doesn't matter if you live in Virginia or another part of the country the questions could most likely be appied in all areas of the country. This would be a great forum to address any concerns or questions that you may have. Maybe you have a questions that you have

real estate: What!!!! Buy a Home Now?? - 08/26/10 12:02 PM
It seems that almost everyone now understands that the real estate market has cooled. Analyst are implying that if you didn't get into the market before the boom it's no use investing now. WHY? Again I ask Why? When you get down to it and talk with real estate professional in the local market you may get an entirely different response. True the real estate market has cooled off even in the Charlottesville, Virginia area, but the real estate market has always been cyclical. Supply and demand may change in the local market, but the feeling is that real estate is

I just wanted see if anyone else read this article on Barrons.com. The focal point was stated and I quote "This real-estate rout has been more painful than prior ones, but it may be shorter-lived. Indeed, there are early signs of recovery." If you haven't seen this article it might make you feel better if you took at look at the Barrons.com web site. The entire article is over 6 pages and make a number of good observations. It is the July 14th edition of their web newsletter. Here are a few points that caught my attention. "existing homes are showing

real estate: Good News on the Horizon? - 12/13/07 01:22 PM
WOW!!!! I can't believe it has been a couple of weeks since I have had an opportunity to get back to Active Rain. The good news is that over the past few weeks in the Charlottesville, Virginia area interest in real estate has been picking up. This is just a little unusual considering the season that we are now in. I have had conversations with a number of agents in the area, and other brokers. Potential buyers are starting to look again. Last week I had more showing appointments than I had almost the entire month of November. Next week is looking

real estate: Charlottesville, Virginia has a great selection in the $200,000 to $250,000 - 10/26/07 02:35 PM
In this report for Charlottesville, Virginia & Albemarle County real estate I increased the range just a little. The selection here is GREAT for anyone looking for a home in this range. Listing Price # of Listings $200,000 - $250,000 173 As I mentioned in the last report. The inventory is great here. Almost 8% of these homes are new construction. I realize that there is more to consider than the price range. You may have some very specific needs. The number of bedrooms, master on the first floor, garage and close to town. Using this criteria we could narrow the search down to around 15

I usually do not cut and paste information for my Blog. However, this came out recently from the CEO of our association. I called and ask permission to use this just as it is. There is also a link to the news story that was aired recently on one of our local news channel. I feel this puts a better light on our local market. There are probably other stories outside of the Charlottesville, Virginia area that maybe you would like to share. real estate: The Art of Taking a Break!!!! Does anyone remember how that works? - 10/17/07 05:00 PM
On my way into work this morning (I have a 40 minute commute) from Wintergreen to Charlottesville, Virginia) I remembered why I liked to be on the road. Way back when - anytime I was driving I was taking a break from the busy day. By the way almost all of my adult life my jobs required that I be in my car a lot. I would either listen to music and sort of relax or I would listen to a motivational tape to get energized. It was my time to get away from work even if it was only for 15
