The seasonal sales cycle in residential real estate is well known in the industry, but not to the general public. The downturn in the market after the real estate bubble peaked several years ago has distored the normal ebb and flow of properties onto the market, but not eliminated it. The chart shows inventory in two zip codes in Santa Rosa. The left and right sides of the chart show a drop in inventory to about 150 homes in each of the areas with the low point coming in the early spring. That's our normal pattern.
