What day is the right day of the week to take off? - 01/30/08 11:41 PM
As realtors, we tend to sometimes overwork or always be working, so what day do you take off and how extensively?  Such as a weekday, half a day, never, or you have no life, wife, and lots of money?
I am trying to figure out what everyone else seems to be doing.  I would almost take that Monday could be a great day, but follow up day for Sunday Open houses is certainly key.  Tuesday seems like nothing is too hot on the market and Wednesday is usually a golf day for Men, which is typically prospecting while playing, again working.  Thursday … (8 comments)

What to do when the sky is blue & -45 degrees outside! - 01/30/08 03:03 PM

Just a little help when its slow and your in dire need of clients...
Well, showing houses probably isn't at the top of my list today as the temp with windchill has been negative 30-45 below zero and people are getting anxious with the fed rate cut.  But if you wan't to look at homes, I assume there is some seriousness involved.
With Fargo/Moorhead being one of the fastest growing cities in the US, with not too much slowdown for building, everyone is starting to get anxious for looking for a home.  Over the past 30 days we consider a lul … (3 comments)

Homes.com - 01/29/08 09:23 AM

This was an article I found and should ask everyone pass this around or copy and paste as I had this company call me yesterday as well.
Here is an article everyone needs to be aware of....
"  I need to share with you a circumstance that I've been forced to deal with for months now. First I was hounded by a sales agent from Homes.com relentlessly for months, I was thinking about changing web providers so the courtship was timely.
I finally decided to make a change, based on all of the wonderful features the salesman said where included in the package. … (4 comments)

Website Rankings - 01/29/08 08:26 AM

In a previous blog, I asked in regards to getting higher rankings on my website.
There was a response telling me to get a higher or good ISP.
What is the ISP or what does that mean?  I am pretty good with the net and understand websites and tech., but what does a good ISP have to do with that?  Internet Service Provider???
If you can help this topic, I would ask you for your input as well as I don't quite understand what the person meant in regards to this topic of the ISP being better.
Thanks

Is it possible to jump rankings in a week on your website? - 01/28/08 06:22 PM

After going through a number of tech classes over the past 10 years in regards to how to get more hits on your site, I have came to the conclusion it is possible with help from others?
Through meta tags, context, correct word phrasing how the bots scroll, are among the top.  But is it possible to get website visits to build rankings?  If so, why don't we help each other out then?
Let me know if this has validity or I am against a fence post?

Name Branding - 01/28/08 06:01 PM

Well, well, well,
Time comes and we all need a brand image, or don't we?  After visiting a number of CEU classes the importance was stressed on branding yourself.  The images and examples were a few really good ones, but what if you don't?  Will you be left behind or forgotten if you don't.
There is a realtor in Seattle, WA who was used as an example as he is the yellow duck guy as for the examples as I can't remember his name, so did his brand image stick in my head?  Kinda sorta and I was looking for examples, so I … (1 comments)

Which Websites are the best... - 01/28/08 04:00 PM

I am starting to really get active with every website possible for my clients.  I have them actively on about 12 websites with Free Listings for there homes which they absolutely love.  I understand our area is about 93% of buyers starting online as well as I have seen the national averages as well.  So I would certainly take in consideration when I did my budget plan for marketing in 2008 a little lower advertising costs due to free advertsiing on the internet.
I am a firm believer in the technology and where we are and will be tomaro.  I always … (2 comments)

Palm Treo & MLS Programs - 01/27/08 09:51 AM

Thanks fror a number of your responses,
I would certainly like to understand more if any of you also are having this problem.  Also if you own a Treo, what are the additional capabilities you use for your real estate efforts?
I can use my phone for internet, (limited), the property tax information, and emails/texts and thats a majority of why I can use this mobile or functionally.
What else am I missing that other Real Estate Professionals using theres for besides the basic options of Outlook for day planning?
Thanks

Palm Treo & FLEX MLS Programs or MLS Programs - 01/26/08 10:08 AM

Hello to all,
I am interested in your comments and thoughts as I do not have a tech support at my office.  I am the tech guy working for myself and learning as much as possible each day.   But I have come accross a situation I need your input as well as help if you can.
My FLEX MLS system, and not sure what it is called in the lower 48 but similar to my Multiple Listing Service.  I cannot gain access past the password which gives me a blank screen.  I cannot access anything farther than this.  When I send out … (1 comments)

THE FROZEN TUNDRA - 01/25/08 05:57 AM

Well, today will be fun showing houses in minus 20 below weather.
My buyers are anxious to look at properties as well as some foreclosures which mind you will not have heat on due to not paying the utilities before the bank had repossessed the homes.  If you are in Florida, you will appreciate showing more than 20 properties before you get a chance to venture out and get this senario.
I am excited everytime I get to work with fresh new buyers and today should be a good day.  As far as the cold goes, it makes things tough, but … (0 comments)

MIDWEST REALTORS - 01/24/08 09:55 AM

I just had a chance to speak with a huge networking referal system for the Dakotas and Minnesota over the past few days, and would invite everyone that is in these 3 states to use this partnership of Midwest Realtors Exclusively to create a referal system as well as updates on any state laws we can pass along to each other.  our area is certainly not affected as much as the national news is portraying so we can certainly look for a great year with rates kicking off in the right direction so far.  Market is hot up here right now!
It is … (1 comments)
