So You Would Like A Fireplace? - 02/29/12 03:14 PM
My wife and I love a Fireplace! Although the gas versions are nice, we are especially fond of the Wood Burning type. As I talk with clients who are looking for a home with a Fireplace, I am amazed at how many people do not realize that when a Fireplace is maintained properly, it can be enjoyed and used again and again and again. On the other hand, a poorly maintained Fireplace can be very unsafe for your home and everyone who lives there.I came across this article today, published by American Home Shield, that everyone who has a Fireplace should … (8 comments)

I often have people asking me one important question about Home Ownership and required Maintenance: "David, will I always need a Handy Man or are there some repairs that I can do myself?" Now, if you are like me, I'm simply better off not holding any tools in my hands, especially Hammers, some kind of Hand Saw and probably some other tools, too. On the other hand, many of my readers would probably qualify for simple, do it yourself jobs around the house. Here is one of the best articles I've read on this subject: Master Basic Home RepairsHopefully the above article … (2 comments)

Countertops and Radon? - 02/16/12 07:57 AM
Please, at the very beginning allow me to share that this article is not my opinion, I am simply relaying a message. In fact, I'm not qualified to render an opinion of this subject. Having said that, it is the opinion of a Medical Doctor, Dr. Andrew Weil. Quite frankly, I've not read anything like this before in reference to Countertops in your Kitchen and Radon. If this is new to you, it is new to me, too! By the way, in Northern Virginia many agents make Radon Testing a part of their Client's Offer on a property.Follow the link: Are … (5 comments)

Interesting Information About Renting And Bedbugs - 02/14/12 02:52 PM
For years, BEDBUGS were nearly extinct in the United States. Unfortunately, they are making a come back and they can be a true nuisance. A question surfaces about what should a tenant do if they have bedbugs and the Landlord refuses to act on behalf of them and their situation? Should the tenant fix the problem and then deduct the expenses from their rent that would otherwise be due the Landlord? I found this interesting article that addresses the problem. I urge everyone to take a moment and read the following writing:Repair and Deduct Remedy has Limits for Renters

This is my first Re-Blog because I've simply chosen to write my own material. Having said that, this is one of the very best articles I've seen on how Realtors get paid and definitely worth a Re-Blog. Tammie White certainly covers the bases on this one. Make sure you let her know how much you appreciate this writing.
Have a great day,
