TEA PARTY ON APRIL 15TH, 2009 - ANYONE know the WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, and LEADERS to contact ?

Posted by Chuck W on April 1, 2009 at 12:49pm in Local (Change) on my Ning Blog . . .

I like and support the idea that "Individuals are finally organizing themselves to show their dissatisfaction towards the Government" who may be trying to move " Our County" in the direction of Socialism.

It's been too long that our government has been " TAXING US TO DEATH" without the people uprising. It appears they think they have a right to Tax us, from the womb to the tomb. We can't allow this to continue, " Big Government" must be stopped and it appears, " We (the People) won't take it any longer".

I highly recommend that everyone " take the time to support this worthy show of support - against government, from Local through Federal levels"

The most obnoxious people right now are in the " Obama administration " . Thsoe big wigs who Obama is asking to fill and run our " Federal Financial Departments" with people who are caught not paying their " Own Personal Taxes". These " Tax Evaders" will be the first to "penalize and Tax " the people even more", if we don't stand up and let them know our support is against them. Some citizens may accept thier appointments and like new taxes, but I don't. I will attend this "Tea Party" and voice my opinions by joining other patriotic Americans, who opposit our current Tax Systems.
.
Not only do we want to stop any " new taxes from being forced down our throats" , we should also want to " THROW OUT OUR own LOCAL and STATE ELECTED INCUMBENT POLITICIANS - completely OUT OF OFFICE - IN 2010".

Right here in Columbus, it's time to vote out certain Members on School and Council Boards - regardless of party affiliation, who are not working " for the people -and- who are responsible for voting them into office" and any other politicians - who are not representing the voters properly.

I believe in " VOTERS TERM LIMITS".

Although "Term Limits will never be approved by politicans" ---- WE (the voters and tax payers) CAN make our own approved " Voters Term Limits", by voting against any " questionable Incumbent".

All we have to do is " NOT VOTE for any INCUMBENTS in 2010" and I believe, some great patriots will hopefully come forward to ' OPPOSE THESE INCUMBENTS" and we the people should "VOTE FOR THESE OPPOSING CANDIDATES". It's that simple. Your vote Counts and we want the Incumbents to understand, we no longer will just vote for Incumbents blindly, unless they want to work for " The Voters".

If we start "FIRING" a few Incumbents, than they may start listening to " We the voters " more seriously. They will only understand our "voting power" when they are DEFEATED. WE expect our " Elected Official" to start working for us and voting like we are are expecting them to vote.

Right now, many Incumbents are NOT communicating with us (the voters) or even caring to hear our imput. It's time for "We the People" to stand up and be accounted for, start show up in larger numbers at the voting booths and " VOTING THESE INCUMBENTS - OUT OF OFFICE". This would be " CHANGE" -- they would have to start "believing in".

"Her" magazine features Leila Carr

A Blog post by Mary Otwell on InTown Columbus...Thank you Mary. I'm very proud of Leila.

-------------------------------------

In the local magazine "HER", fresh on the new stand, Leila Carr, wife of David Carr, our ITC network owner was spotlighted in a most inspiring feature. Below is the copy from "HER" magazine.

"Leila Carr, executive vice president and chief retail officer at Synovus, has been in the national spotlight in the field of banking through good times and bad. She has served in her current position since August 2005, although she has been with the company since 2000. She led the creation of Synovus' Retail Strategy in 2004 and is credited for the successful implemtation of the strategy. Her daily focus includes the complete scope of retail banking activities and initiatives.

In 2007, Leila was named among "The Most Powerful Women In Banking", by US Banker magazine. In 2006, the same national publication named Leila one of the "25 Women to Watch." "It's very humbling to represent Synovus on a national scale," Leila remarks.

Humbling, yes; surprising, no, because the American spirit still soars and Columbus headliners help carry it forward."

We at ITC are very proud of you, Leila. Kudos and more.

Stimulus or not

From my SBLOG, InTown Columbus by Steve...

"Well it looks like Congress is going to give the President a bill he will sign. Now only time will tell. I am not an economist but I do read them. As I have watched the debate on whether there should be a stimulus or not and whether it should be spending or tax cuts the debate has pretty much been along "party" lines, in Congress and even here on ITC.

I found this interesting article. Seems that Mark Zandi is an economist, Ph.D. type and Chief Economist at Moody's. Not really a party thing there. They are about business. His written report to Congress last month is about 20 pages long and has some very interesting things in it. Like:

The costs of the House plan are approximately equal to the estimated direct net cost to the economy of the financial panic. The hit to household wealth is among the most significant costs. Net worth has fallen close to $12 trillion since peaking a year ago. Of that, $4 trillion is due to the 25% decline in house prices, while the rest is due to the 40% decline in stock prices (see Chart 4). Every dollar decline in household net worth reduces consumer spending by 5 cents over the next two years. If sustained, the wealth lost over the past year could thus cut $300 billion from consumer spending in 2009 and a like amount in 2010. More than in past recessions, the financial pain of this recession is being felt by all Americans, from lower-income households losing jobs to affluent households with diminished nest eggs.

The increased infrastructure spending in the House plan is also a particularly effective way to stimulate the economy. The plan includes $160 billion in such spending, with $90 billion in more traditional infrastructure projects such as highway construction, public transit and waterways; and $70 billion for a variety of energy, science and healthcare projects. The boost to GDP from every dollar spent on public infrastructure is large-an estimated $1.59-and there is little doubt that the nation has underinvested in infrastructure for some time, to the increasing detriment of the nation's long-term growth prospects.

The House plan would not forestall a sizable decline of 2.5% in real GDP in 2009, but it would ensure that real GDP returns to its previous peak by early 2011 (see Table 3). The stimulus limits the peak-to-trough decline in jobs to some 5.5 million, and the unemployment rate peaks at nearly 9.5% in summer 2010. With the stimulus, the unemployment rate falls back to its full employment rate of close to 5% by early 2013. Without the stimulus, the unemployment rate rises to well over 11% and ends 2012 at a still-extraordinary high of nearly 8%.

Policymakers may also want to consider expanding the size of the stimulus package with more tax cuts. Tax cuts do not have the same economic bang for the buck as increased government spending, as households will save some of the tax cuts or use them to repay debt, and purchase imported goods, but tax cuts can get into the economy quickly. A refundable tax credit for a home purchased in 2009, payable at the time of the purchase, would be an effective way to quickly stimulate home sales and reduce the mountain of unsold homes weighing on house prices and exacerbating foreclosures and the crisis in the financial system. A payroll tax holiday for employees and employers in, say, the third quarter of this year would also provide a large boost to lower- and middle-income households and struggling small businesses. These two tax cuts would bring the total cost of the House plan to just over $1 trillion.

Lets hope he is right because it looks like that is what is about to be passed and signed."
