For some seeing $250,000 automobiles may be a regular occurance, but here in Cape May County New Jersey it usually turns heads. There is an area in my market that is being frequented more and more by people who have the means to afford cars with huge price tags, and the price of bayfront real estate along North Cape May, Townbank, and Cape May Beach is also seeing it's price tags go up. This is a shot I took this morning while rowing towards the Cape May bridge. It reminded me of all the great moments in this area where you could imagine being in any number of exotic locations around the world. I thought of some river in Thailand early in the morning with exotic birds echoing from the trees off in the distant. 40 minutes later you could easily see the bridge and the houses across the canal. Well, our season is finally upon us and everyone I know has been anxiously awaiting the great weather. Even with the high gas prices, the Cape May area sits within a tank of gas from the Philadelphia and New York . Money has been tighter and home prices have fallen a bit so now is the right time to pick up your beach house. In a recent article I read it stated that more millionaires are made in down markets than up markets to an eye opening 8 to 1 ratio.
