I Want To Be Below Average - 11/27/08 02:49 PM
Say what? Yes, you read that right. I want to be below average. And I imagine you do to. But only in certain areas. Today, being Thanksgiving, I’m thinking I want to be below average in terms of food eaten. The typical American, on Thanksgiving day, consumes 4500 calories. I’ll say it again, I want to be below average in the calories I consume today. In case you don’t know, the recommended daily requirements are 1600 calories for women and 2200 calories for men. That means, the average man, on Thanksgiving, consumes more than TWICE the required calories, and the average (4 comments)
Cat Emergency! - 11/24/08 04:53 PM
A blonde was weed-eating her yard and accidentally cut off the tail of her cat which was hiding in the grass. She rushed her cat, along with the tail over to WAL*MART! Why WAL*MART?? HELLOOOOOOOOO! WAL*MART is the largest re-tailer in the world!!! (1 comments)
The Qualities of Effective Leaders - 11/24/08 01:01 PM
I just started reading the new book by Roger Fritz, "Stand And Deliver... or Step Aside" and was positively impacted by a list that started on the first page of Chapter 1. It was headed "The Qualities of Effective Leaders (Do You Have Them?)" I don't think the question, "Do you have them?" is the right question. I think the right question is, "How well have you developed each of them?" Nevertheless, the point is to challenge ourselves to improve our skills and qualifications as leaders. Here's the list. How well are you doing in developing each of these qualities? Accountability (0 comments)
Healthy Drinks For the Road? Not these! - 11/20/08 12:52 PM
Are you concerned about your health? What about your weight? Trying to maintain it? Lose a pound or two? Do you have more than that to lose? (Public confessions not necessary here.) If so, you may want to read further. I recently was forwarded excerpts of an article from Men’s Health magazine titled, “Eat This, Not That: America’s Unhealthiest Drinks Exposed.“ It’s about some of the worst drinks that we consume here in America. The four that were highlighted for me were: Glaceau Vitamin Water Arizona Kiwi Strawberry Pina Colada Baskin Robbin’s Large Heath Bar Shake Have you ever had any (14 comments)
The Cop and the Juggler - 11/14/08 10:06 AM
A Cop pulled a car over for speeding. When the Cop asked the driver why he was traveling 95mph, the driver answered that he was a juggler on his way to do a show for a birthday party and didn't want to be late. The Cop told the driver he was fascinated by juggling, and if the driver would do a little juggling for him that he wouldn't give him a ticket. The driver told the Cop that he had sent all of his equipment on ahead and didn't have anything to juggle. The Cop told him that he had some (11 comments)
Speeding - 11/13/08 05:34 PM
A policeman was sitting on the hard shoulder watching the traffic go by when a car zoomed past him doing at least 120 mph. The policeman chased him down, and pulled the car over. He went up to the car and asked, "Do you know that you were doing at least 50 mph over the speed limit?" The driver replied, "Was I officer? I'm terribly sorry but I wasn't aware of that." The policeman said, "May I see your drivers license please?" The man replied, "I don't have one officer." "Of course you do," said the policeman. "No sir, I don't," (6 comments)
Media Bias? Yes, according to the Media! - 11/10/08 03:32 AM
For quite some time, Conservatives have been complaining of a Liberal-bias in the Media. All along, the Liberals frequently chided the Conservatives for expressing their opnion. In fact, they often complained that there was a Conservative bias in the media. Well, now that the Presidential Election is over, at least one media outlet is recognizing their own bias - toward Obama and against McCain. They claim to have noticed it as long ago as August, but it's just now creeping out - after that acknowlegement is of no value other than for Conservatives to be able to say "See? I told (12 comments)
