onpurpose: What I Do Today - 11/20/09 11:38 AM
This just came in. It was too good to keep to myself: What I Do Today What I do today is very important because I am trading a day of my life for it. Tomorrow this day is gone forever, leaving behind what I traded for it. Therefore I will do everything I can to assure that what remains will be: productive, great, good and successful...... ...in that way I need never regret the price I paid for today! - Author Unknown Only one thing to add that was implied but not explicitly said: To assure I have no regrets I

onpurpose: Re-Igniting Contentment or Gratitude - 04/24/09 01:53 PM
This clip of comedian Louis C.K.’s appearance on Conan’s show is a funny, clear explanation of how we take so many amazing things for granted. Some of the things he touches on include: telephones, banking, internet, and transportation. I LOVE his little story: This is what people are like: they’ve got their phone [acts out dialing on a cell phone] and they’re like, “Ugghh!!… … [waiting for a connection] It won’t… … “ GIVE IT A SECOND!!! It’s going to SPACE! Can you give it a SECOND to get back from SPACE? Is the speed of light too slow for you?

onpurpose: Introducing myself - Part 2 - 03/28/08 10:00 PM
Part 1 started with my "usual" introduction that I give when meeting people in business networking groups where I'm representing myself as a Mortgage Consultant: I'm David Holzmann... your honest, creative, service-oriented Mortgage Consultant for Life - serving by realizing harmony. I left off Part 1 with a summary of the results of my research into the meaning of the words that seem to best describe my Purpose: To the glory of God I exist to serve by realizing harmony. (The key words there are: realizing and harmony, as those are the only two words that are unique to me and my

onpurpose: Introducing myself - Part 1 - 03/28/08 09:57 PM
Last week I was scheduled to talk to an exclusive networking group that I attend. There are about 20 people in the group, no two represent the exact same industry, and we've all agreed to actively look for appropriate referral-opportunities to send good business prospects to the others in the group. Each week we meet and talk briefly about referrals we've received and given. And everyone is given about 30-60 seconds to briefly introduce themselves and describe their ideal prospect. Then one person is given "the floor" to give an extended intro, followed by a Question/Answer time. Last week it was my turn to

onpurpose: On-Purpose in Central FL - Are you? Here's an opportunity to eat lunch and learn a bit about living or working on-purpose. - 01/24/08 02:19 PM
Did you ever say something like, "I didn't do that on purpose!" If not, have you ever heard someone else say something like that? Hearing that statement made over and over again got Kevin McCarthy thinking, "Why not? Why don't we do things on purpose? What would it mean to live on-purpose?" As a result of asking those questions and a lot of thinking, he built a business coaching people and businesses to first discover their purpose, and then live and work on-purpose. After doing that for a while, he wrote a couple of books about being on-purpose: "The On-Purpose Person" and "The On-Purpose
