downtown raleigh: The Greek Festival In Raleigh, Just One Of Many Fun Things To Do. - 09/21/12 12:41 PM
The Greek Festival in Raleigh was just one of a ton of things going on this weekend in the Triangle. The Annual Greek Festival is put on by Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church every year and this was the 31st one. We have always heard about the amazing food ( I suspect that is why most people go!) and never managed to get there until this past Sunday. I always love finding out about other cultures and this is a great chance to experience some Greek food, music and dance. There is a full menu of food to sample, from Lamb (0 comments)

downtown raleigh: Raleigh Farmers Market is Great in Winter, Wait Until Spring Gets Here. - 01/31/11 04:30 PM
Raleigh Farmers Market is Great in Winter, Wait Until Spring Gets Here. I headed over to the Raleigh Farmers Market on Friday to see what was going on. There are two sections an indoor area and a covered area where the farmers etc back their trucks up and you buy your produce. Despite being the middle of winter and cold by Raleigh standards, there was a good selection of produce to be had. I bought a two pound bucket of tomatoes from Johnston County NC for $2.00!!!
How did I get tomatoes in January from Johnston County at the Raleigh (2 comments)
I know, right!!! What has happened to the world when the NHL All Star Game is being held in a Southern Capital City like Raleigh?Well if you know any Caniacs, it will make perfect sense to you. Caniacs are fans of the local NHL Franchisee the Carolina Hurricanes (get it?) and let me tell you these people are fanatical, as all fans should be. I don't know if it's the fact that there are so many transplants here from states up north like New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts (0 comments)

downtown raleigh: Star Wars in Concert at The RBC Center in Raleigh Was Awesome. - 07/27/10 09:27 PM
Star Wars in Concert at The RBC Center in Raleigh Was Awesome. We took the boys to the Star Wars in Concert show at the RBC Center last week end and it was magic. Actually we tricked them by telling them we had been given free tickets to a hockey game (not big sports fans!). There was the usual whining whenever they are taken away from their friends and so when we arrived at the stadium, Kelly pointed to the sign "Star Wars in Concert". Poor old Conor still not realizing says "why can't we go to that instead of a (6 comments)

Also on Sunday Raleigh was the venue for SPARKcon SPARKcon is a showcase of creativity, talent and ideas of "the creative hub of the south," the Triangle NC.
