St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Raleigh, NC is this Saturday March 12Th.
What is the one of the best things about living in the South?....The Weather, and what is better than watching the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in a t-shirt........”we’ll wait for ya”.........Nothing, silly goose!

Yep we have watched the parade in t-shirts and while I’m not that crazy about getting sun burned this early in the year, the other nice treat about parades in Raleigh is you can always get a good spot.

raleigh: Raleigh-Cary has been named the Healthiest Housing market in 2011 by Builder Magazine. - 03/07/11 01:48 PM
Raleigh-Cary has been named the Healthiest Housing market in 2011 by Builder Magazine. The results of the study which is based on a number of metrics show the Carolina’s and Texas as really leading the way out of the housing slump.
The Raleigh market as in other parts of North Carolina did not go hog wild ( I like that saying) back in the boom years and so prices did not have to go far to be in line with the market. The factors influencing the growth of the Raleigh-Cary area and the Triangle area in general, are the employment opportunities, a large … (2 comments)

NHL All Star Game Comes To Raleigh, North Carolina This Week-End

I know, right!!!
What has happened to the world when the NHL All Star Game is being held in a Southern Capital City like Raleigh?Well if you know any Caniacs, it will make perfect sense to you.
Caniacs are fans of the local NHL Franchisee the Carolina Hurricanes (get it?) and let me tell you these people are fanatical, as all fans should be. I don't know if it's the fact that there are so many transplants here from states up north like New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts … (0 comments)

raleigh: Moving from New York to North Carolina? - 12/18/10 01:12 PM
Moving To North Carolina From New York?... You Are Not Alone!
It turns out New York is the state that had the most visits to the Triangle Multiple Listing Service, after North Carolina obviously. In October (the last month we have figures for) there were 2500 visits from people in New York looking at homes in the Triangle. The Triangle is made up of Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill and the surrounding towns and counties. Towns like Clayton, Cary, Apex are all considered part of the Triangle.
Next on the list was Virginia with 2000, New Jersey had 1,700 visits. I suspect the … (1 comments)

Dave Ramsey Came To Raleigh To Kick Our Butts!!!

We started doing the Ramsey plan this summer and  we both saw how quickly it was going to work. Kelly bought the tickets as soon as she heard he was coming when we were sticking to our budget so it was good timing as we had fallen off the wagon.
Now I'll admit I was a bit hesitant as I thought there might be a religious angle. There wasn't although he did quote from the bible a couple of times it was completely relevant and I might just have to go read it … (0 comments)

REBarCampRDU Committee Knocks It Out Of The Park
There Will Be No Pictures in This Post!!
I brought the camera but it eats batteries for breakfast so no pictures were taken. Before you say it! I am going to be trading my Blackberry for a new one, Droid or iPhone I'm not sure.
The Committee that put on the Raleigh REBarCamp need to stand and take a bow, this was the best camp I have ever been to ( OK I've only been to one other one!)
It was full of interesting topics well presented by knowledgeable speakers and like Debe … (4 comments)

And The Oscar Goes To........... Well Not Me, But This House Deserves An Oscar!
Actually Hollywood's the last place I would go, but Video, Video, Video is what everyone is talking about these days when it comes to real Estate. To me it makes perfect sense. A picture paints a thousand words but what about the neighborhood, the entrance, the house next door?
A video can show things about a house, neighborhood, yard etc. that no amount of Realtor words or pictures can hope to address. So after getting a jolt from TLW, a nudge from Eleanor and then listening to Mike … (0 comments)

Star Wars in Concert at The RBC Center in Raleigh Was Awesome.
We took the boys to the Star Wars in Concert show at the RBC Center last week end and it was magic. Actually we tricked them by telling them we had been given free tickets to a hockey game (not big sports fans!). There was the usual whining whenever they are taken away from their friends and so when we arrived at the stadium, Kelly pointed to the sign "Star Wars in Concert". Poor old Conor still not realizing says "why can't we go to that instead of a … (6 comments)

Raleigh NC is Number 1 again...Well this is embarrassing!

We've know for a while that Raleigh and The Triangle were great places to get jobs, raise a family, retire. The reasons are many depending on your perspective, good schools and affordable housing for young families. Warm weather, access to great health care, active communities for retirees. High tech jobs for graduates and some of the top medical facilities in the country for doctors and cutting edge bio technologies for scientists.

Now there is a new report out from Portfolio.com, (a bizjournals property) that says that Raleigh offers the … (5 comments)

raleigh: Scenes From North Carolina's Newest Town, Archer Lodge, in Johnston County. - 03/30/10 10:26 PM
Scenes From North Carolina's Newest Town Archer Lodge, in Johnston County.

Archer Lodge is primarily a farming community that is seeing more and more of the land being used for homes. It became a town after people were afraid that the larger towns of Clayton and Wendell would eventually incorporate the area.
Their ETJ's were knocking on the door and folks were afraid that if they did not incorporate, that the name would disappear. As with every thing new there are learning curves and the town is finding it's way. They did not waste any … (1 comments)
