"Crap place, great location and view..." - 08/25/11 06:10 PM
Really?!
A friend of mine sent me a link to this rental advertisement for an apartment near Sydney Austrailia.  Sounds like the guy who wrote it had a little fun doing so.  If anyone is feeling uninspired about their current marketing technique, perhaps this will give you the lift you're looking for.
Enjoy...

The New San Francisco /Oakland Bay Bridge (and how I survived the "old" one) - 08/15/11 05:42 PM

After yesterday's post on California's Hi Speed Rail project, I thought a nice "tie-in" to our State's largest future public works project would be a quick highlight of the current largest public works project, (the largest, so far in California history), already in progress:  The construction of the new eastern span of the San Francisco/Oakland Bay Bridge...a 6.3 billion dollar project in a race against time before the next big quake.  Construction began in 2002 and should be complete by 2013.  It will be the longest self-anchored suspension bridge in the world.  The video below was shown on our local … (33 comments)

Let's just get it built, shall we? - 08/14/11 04:00 PM
I've written a couple of blog posts over the past year regarding California's proposed Hi-Speed rail system and the positive impact this project will bring to our State.  As would be expected, there are always those who can't see the forest for the trees.  Money?  Sure...it's going to cost a bundle.  But it's only going to become more expensive each time there's a delay.  Will it end up costing more than predicted?  Most certainly...the kind of odds you might equate with death and taxes.  Interestingly enough, when we HAVE to get something done, we find a way to get it done...and … (12 comments)

"Be aware of the lady wanting free coffee.." - 08/10/11 09:31 PM
"Be aware of the lady wanting free coffee.."
That was the message sent out today by a couple of our sales managers.  Seems there's been a crafty woman in town who's looking for a free lunch...literally.  Technically, she's not really breaking the law (I think)...well, at least the lunch and coffee part.  Collecting fees for credit reports?...well, that could be another blog topic.  Just when you think you've heard it all...
Here's the original email of "warning" from an agent in town who wanted to spread the word.  I'll call her "Alice" out of respect for privacy.  Enjoy.

Most "walkable" cities in the U.S.... - 08/03/11 05:34 PM

I always get a kick out of these "top ten" lists...surveys...statistics...(or whatever you wish to call them based on the criteria used to make the story).  In this case, It's "walk-ability".  WalkScore.com, (for those who may be unfamiliar), can be a great selling tool for the urbanite Real Estate Agent, particularly if the listing of interest happens to have a "high" walkscore.
In San Francisco, it's good to have a walkscore of 90 or above...especially if you're planning on advertising it.  When I typed in my home address I got a score of '95' (out of 100)...A 'Walker's Paradise' (per … (34 comments)

Ready...Steady...Go! - 08/01/11 01:42 AM
Ever since I started playing with the imovie program on my Mac about a month ago , I've been squeezing in some video production time whenever I get the chance.  While my goal is to produce interesting and informational video that helps capture the essence of San Francisco, I find myself having the most fun when the production incorporates a montage of clips set to energetic music.  I admit...it's the "kid"-Artist inside me that keeps me glued to the editing chair.  I laugh at times when I find myself whipping out my phone to record video wherever I am...and often while … (32 comments)
