"Did you feel the earthquake"?...
Those are usually the first words out of everyone's mouth when a trembler strikes nearby.  We just had a nice little shaker here, and reports are giving it a range of 3.9 to 4.2 right now.  Not huge, but significant enough to make you take notice and hold onto your seat for a few seconds!  I'm working from home today, and it felt like a semi was coming through the neighborhood (at first).  Then the fun began, and the house jerked around a bit.  It seems I'm always in my car when the larger ones … (20 comments)

*San Francisco Most Affected by Lower Loan Limits...
On October 1, the conforming loan limit was decreased, and the U.S. stopped guaranteeing loans larger than $625,500.  To determine how the change in loan limits will impact home sales nationwide, Redfin released new data showing which areas are most vulnerable to the policy change.  
Despite rising values and brisk sales, this means a good chunk of potential home buyers will have to either qualify at higher rates (under a "jumbo" loan product) or plunk down some more cash to obtain a conforming loan.  It is what it is.

One of the many things I love about living in San Francisco is the fact that we often have the privilege to see advanced screenings of upcoming movies before their public release... (without having to fly down to L.A. or N.Y.).  These events are usually free admission, and only require that you show up early enough to grab a good seat.  One of the best theaters to watch these screenings is the Castro Theater.  Often, the Director of the film will make an appearance on stage after the movie to address … (25 comments)
